Sheila@ Note Songs, Roosters and Chickens Party.
Now, where did I put them?
I scratched around till I found them in the upstairs hall closet.
This poor hen was cooped up so long, she'd gone broody and built a nest.
The middle sized one is a bit wild-eyed. Bless her heart.
I'm not really sure why I bought her, except that she was similar in color to the nesting hen.
This little one was in the cupboard above the stove. I had to put an egg on her to make her sit still.
Let me tell you, I had a time making this breakfast tablescape.
These were hens gone wild! :)
The nesting hen even has a chick peeking out from her feathers.
See it peeking out?
Actually, the chick's a little egg shaped ladle.
I ordered the tureen online, and the ladle was broken when it arrived, so you'll see the mended crack.
Those hens nearly drove me crazy!
They kept jumping from plate to plate while I was setting up the tablescape.
This one even pecked at the napkin I was trying to
photograph.
I finally got a rim shot of the place setting.
It looks like they've finally calmed down a bit.
There, finished!
I'm off to Sheila's for the Roosters and Chickens Party.
See y'all there.
Hugs, Babs
Sources:
The nesting hen tureen, cabbage plate and leaf plate are all Bordallo Pinheiro.
Gold plates are Sango, Newport Spice, a find at GW last year. I only have two, and I'd love to have more, but they must be an old pattern, as I've not been able to find them online.
The little wild eyed hen came from a flea/antique mall, and I think the egg cup came from World Market.
The urn was a yard sale purchase for $1. and the glassware is from DT.
Striped napkins, used as placemats, are from Kohl's this year.

I agree with you that chickens can get quite wild. I am amazed that you were able to get shots at all! I love the nesting chicken and your tablescape -- how cute is that egg ladle. I only have live chickens, but I can see from all these posts that I need to get with it and get some dishware, etc. Joni
What a pretty nesting chicken tureen with the sweet little chick. Your colors are so pretty -- thanks for your visit -- I believe that my "big boy" was my very first rooster from about 15 years ago!
Beautiful hens and I thoroughly enjoyed the story line....
