Some of the cool greens in my garden are:
The huge fragrant leaves of our fig tree. It's now over 10 ft. high, even after we pruned it last winter.
Baby fig.
Oh, here are a few more babies and two larger ones.
Oak leaf hydrangea, in the center, Crocosmia, behind and of course the Japanese maple in the foreground.
I know, the Japanese maple isn't green, but it's so dark and pretty, it just feels cool.
Blue-green leaves of a hosta and...
...a varigated hosta with that cool white center.
My garden is always a work in progress, but stop by anytime... there's always weeding to be done. :)

Beautiful hostas too. I have tried but mine just do not do well. I think they get too much sun.
Love your Oak Leaf Hydrangea...I had one that was huge and always bloomed beautifully. A few years ago it just up and died. No idea why...my heart was broken! Your hosta is lovely too...try to stay cool! ~Ann
The greens DO look cool and are a refreshing background for flowers. I love your fig trees, would you believe I have never had a fig in my whole life!
It is 90 degrees here in Chicago...very unusual!!

Everything looks such lush and pretty. You are WEEKS ahead of us...although we hit a record of 97* yesterday but 60 by Friday. :(

Years ago I collected figs and made jelly with them from various flavors of Jello. I was just thinking about that the other day and wondering what has happened to all the fig trees. Do you do anything special with yours?
Amazing how everything is already so big and colorful and full there in Georgia!!! It has hit 90 a couple of days here in Missouri, too, but we're headed back to cooler weather for the upcoming weekend. I'm glad for that. I need cooler temps while working in that attic space!!! I have never seen an actual fig on an actual fig tree. That looks so cool! I think it would be fun to just pluck on off the tree and eat it. The only way I've ever eaten fig is in Fig Newtons! :-) Your yard is looking FABULOUS!!!!!
