This morning, I was looking for ideas for new pots for the deck, and saw these hypertufa pots online.
Although I've seen hypertufa pots for years, I've never made any.
These are some of the great looking ones I found...with instructions.
I really like these using a wicker basket for the form...
... these square-ish faux bois pots are great, but are more involved, requiring wood grained rubber mats and wooden boxes...
...milk cartons were used for these. Love the little succulents in them.
You can find these three styles on Marthastewart.com.
My Lowe's Creative Ideas magazine arrived yesterday, but I hadn't had a chance to look at it. When I looked at it this morning...guess what? Hypertufa pots with instructions!
If you don't get Lowe's free publication, you can find all the ideas and instructions at Lowe's website here.
There's even a video to show how to get started.
I'm loving all these styles, and thinking of making some.
Have any of y'all ever made hypertufa pots?
I'd love to know how they turned out, and considering
all the mess...would you make them again?

Those are really neat looking. The wicker basket look is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI made one a couple of years ago when I took a class at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and it was harder than it looks but fun to make.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing whatever you create.
Babs, never made these and didn't know this term. The pots look great. Love the faux bois pots. I'm off to read the instructions. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have seen these, but not know what they where called. Thanks for educating me! They look really pretty, so I guess I will read directions and see what is involved. Happy Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI have not made any of these but love them. Hmmm I wonder where my Lowes Creative Idea magazine is???? Are you going to make some?
ReplyDeleteBabs never made any of my own but I did see them in Lowes today and thought they were pretty cool looking.
ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with the term but they are very pretty Babs.
ReplyDeleteI just received my Lowes magazine yesterday but haven't really looked at it yet. Those pots are really cute. I never knew they were handmade from regular things.
ReplyDeleteBabs,
ReplyDeleteNever seen or heard of them before. I was @ Lowes today and love those miniature succulents! I'll have to visit their web site this week! Your posts haven't been showing up on MY Blog notifications lately...have you been away? Anyway, I've missed you, dear friend! I'll be checking my settings to make sure you're coming through!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Hi Babs, I hanen't made any of these little pots. I find these days diy for me has to be fairly easy and quick. If it's messy I just don't want to go there. I really love the look, such pretty textures. Hope if you make these you'll do a tutorial.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week Babs.
