I Keep Saying...
I keep saying I'm not going to buy any more blue things for the house. I mostly use Fall colors, and buying blue things causes me to have to buy something else to go with it. You know how it is...you buy a top in a great new color, and then you have to buy shoes and jewelry, because you don't have anything to go with the top...
But, this morning it was senior day at GW, and when I saw these two Sarah's Garden Wedgwood plates...$1.43 for both of them, I just couldn't say "no"...
...so I started scrounging the house and shed to see what I could find to make a tablescape. I already had a set of Copeland Spode plates which sort of work, even though there isn't any blue in them...
...each plate has different flowers, and I chose these with the dahlias. The first one is called a single dahlia and this one is just called "dahlias".
I also found this oval container at GW, this morning...$1.21 minus 25%...only 91 cents...cha ching!
I kept the green placemats from my last post, and found a few faux flowers from last Fall...
...I got this pitcher with my birthday gift card from World Market...back in April...I don't think I've shown it before. It's little raffia cover unbuttons and comes off so it can be washed...
...I already had two Bordallo Pinheiro leaf plates and some April Cornell napkins...
...I didn't have to buy anything to go with the plates, and for a grand total of $2.48, I don't feel too badly about buying more blues.

Love the blue and gold together. I have gold leaf plates like that somewhere but I would really have to look for them. :o) Better put that on my list. Lovely table as always.
Beautiful Babs!!
Wow, just beautiful!
Oh Babs, these are beautiful and what a bargain too!! I'm glad you got them hon, I don't think I would pass them up either! I love how you fixed them up too, with that pretty yello leaves bowls, great for fall too! Hugs,
FABBY
Babs, how could you possibly have left these behind. Sarah's Garden is a beautiful pattern, especially these blue with the butterfly. I think it goes perfectly with the golden leaf dish and those gorgeous napkins. No question, this is a beautiful table setting. Can't believe the price. ;-)
Oh how gorgeous. I think your tablescape is stunnine. Love the rafia pitcher and glass and they look so beautiful with your "garden" themed setting. That oval container is stunning also. Beautiful. Hugs, Marty
Love it all! Makes me feel like fall is on the way and I am so ready! I just love the colors.
What a beautiful paring! My Goodwill never has bargains like that.
Babs,
NOT @ my Goodwill...but so glad you found some new things to make such a stunning tablescape!!! Love the Bordallo leaf bowls...gorgeous!!! Thank you for reminding us that when we "shop the house" lovely treasures abound!
Fondly,
Pat
Heavens to Betsy, Babs...you scored big time!!!! I need to inquire about Senior Day at Goodwill around here. I'm not sure at what age they start allowing you to participate. If it's 55, I only have a few months to go. If it's anything beyond that, though, I need to start picking my Mom up 'cause I can't wait!!! Don't stop buying blue...it's a classic, beautiful color and you're able to pair it with so many other colors!!! Just look at what you did with these beautiful plates!!!!!!! I have seen that cool raffia glassware at World Market and wondered how one might go about cleaning it. Buttons, huh? Great idea! The leaf bowls are the PERFECT touch of color, texture and height. Very pretty table!!!!!!
Oh dear, these are beautiful, and they totally match!!!! Love the colours and design!
Hugs,
Hello Babs, How fabulous to have a Senior Day at GW.....I wonder if I could organise something like that where I live. I thought the original price was a bargain, but to receive a 25% discount aswell.....that's a real bargain! Best Wishes Daphne
Wow, great deal on the plates. You did a wonderful job of mixing and matching what you had to make a tablescape.
Wow! Great deals. I just spotted those Wedgwood dishes on my new addiction....http://www.shopgoodwill.com/search/searchKey.asp?sortBy=itemEndTime&sortOrder=a&itemTitle=wedgwood&minPrice=&maxPrice=&closed=&month=&day=&year=&days=0&catID=0&sellerID=all&srchdesc=&showthumbs=on&page=2
I just peeked and they be gone already. They are so cute!!!! Shipping can be expensive, but I am telling you it's fun to browse!!!!
I envy your good luck at your Goodwill! Ours has very little of interest to me. The plates are just gorgeous! They actually go nicely with a lot of colors. Your table reminds me of a gorgeous garden in bloom! Everyone plays together so well!;-D

Jane
I wouldn't pass them up either. I think they are beautiful and a bargain. Your table is lovely with your treasure.
That table just screams summer! So pretty. I love that bright cobalt blue mixed with the sunny yellow. Your April Cornell linens are a perfect match for that.
What a beautiful table setting and at such a bargain. I love how you were able to find other things around the house and pull it all together so beautifully.
Looks lovely...I especially like the leaf bowls ( I am on the hunt for them) and you got some greta deals at GW - Lucky you!
Your table is just lovely!
The addition of the blue doesn't make it one bit less autumnal. It just makes it all the prettier. I love the way the butter yellow looks with it.
And that rattan cover for the glass and pitcher is very, very cool!
Babs, how could it be more beautiful! I love, love the blue.
xoBarb
I call that the BLUE EFFECT Babs or the GOODWILL EFFECT. I certainly have it frequently. The china is stunning and you put together a beautiful tablescape. I never walk out of GW empty handed. hugs, Olive
Oh My, I would NOT have passed those plates either... You did beautifully at making your blue work for fall. ACTUALLY the little butterfly DID have a fall color on his wing. AND the sky is always STILL BLUE in the fall, hehe! I LOVE your table setting! You are a MASTER!
Have a fun week,
Hugs,
Donna
I love your thought process but I'm glad you bought the lovely Wedgwood plates. They are great with the Spode and compliment the yellow leaf plate. You are a very thrifty shopper and I enjoyed shopping ar GW on vacation. I am now seeing what they have at home. My SA has always been my best source for bargains. Loved your table setting!
Thanks, Pam
Everything works together just beautifully! All of the sunny and bright colors make me feel like a day in Provence!
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
You have incorporated blue with your fall colors beautifully!!! And the prices are making my head spin!!!
Those blue plates are gorgeous and you would have sooo been sad to have passed them up. You made a lovely table using them and fall colors! Fabulous job!

Can I come play scrounge around at your house? I would love to get into that shed.
Your table is marvelous. You know I love blue and those are the sweetest plates and combined with your Copeland plates, it is perfect. The yellow leaf plates are the perfect transition into fall. Love every inch of this table.
