Let the temperature drop a couple of degrees, and I start thinking about Fall...well, not really...
...actually, what happened was, I found this pair of urns when I was out thrifting yesterday...
...so, I gave my boxwoods a good pruning, and used the clippings to fill the urns. Hopefully, the cuttings will air dry like that, but if not, I'll think of something else to use. Do you think they look a bit bushy?....should I trim them more?
I started rearranging a mix of old and new, blue and white pieces...
...a Booth's Real Old Willow, plate...
...a new Churchill sugar bowl, and a not so new Schweppes lemon dish...
...a decorative double happiness jar that I've had forever...
...this little cup from a yard sale years ago...probably part of a set for tea, or something...
...this pudding mold you saw last year in my secretary here...
...and this polychrome one I found the same day as the tole tray.
I don't know anything about it, except it has "made in England" on the back, and it was 99 cents...whoo hoo!!
I hope I'm not making y'all crazy with this Fallish look.
What can I say?...it just happened.
Hugs,
Babs

Babs, you new urns look great on the chest. I like them stacked on the books. The group of blue and white is a wonderful mix. I like the idea of the boxwood in the urns. Never thought of doing that, and that they would dry. I'm going to give it a try here. ~ Sarah
Babs your urns look perfect! Gorgeous vignette!!
I love the look of blue and white together! You really know how to do it right, Babs!
I have boxwood and never thought to cut it and put it in an urn. I love that look!
Your arrangement would be perfect to share at TUTORIALS TIPS AND TIDBITS, my new weekly linky party going on now! Come on over and join in! Link goes live at 8:00 tonight!
Love it, Babs! I don't think it's too fallish at all! It's gorgeous! I got my new Charles Faudree today...lots of blue and white...fabulous! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
Such a pretty vignette. I love all the Blue Willow and how you have stacked things on vintage books giving them different heights. The urns are great and I would have had no idea those were just clippings. How smart. It looks great, not bushy at all! I also love the red cabinet...love that color!
Love it Babs, urns are great and not too bushy to me. I love, love all the blue pieces. I have truly fallen for blues and so wish those were mine. Beautiful job.
Babs, I love the urns, real beauties. A good excuse to start thinking about fall vignettes. I don't think is's ever to early to decorate for the mood your in. I love your blue and white. I did a blue and white in my foyer weeks ago, I think it's perfect anytime. All your blues look great together, and no I don't think your boxwood is bushy!

That's pretty. I don't think it is fall looking at all. Blue and white is for anytime.
I love mixing old and new. Your blues are so crisp. I think that the Booths Willow is my favorite of the Willow patterns. Your vignette is lovely!
I agree with Kim, blue and white is classic and timeless. Also your boxwood arrangements are perfect. I am a floral designer and i love them AND the urns! XO, Pinky
Babs,
Oh, I'm lovin' this blue and white! Helps to cool things down for me here on the "drought strickened" Prairie! Lovely vignette!!! Adore how you've used books to give flow and movement throughout! A classic look, indeed!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Oh I love your blue decor and I adore your bushes! Not too bushy at all :)
Lovely!
Hugs,
I adore blue and white. I love the way you presented your blue and white pieces in the photographs. I too have a large selection of blue and white which I have collected since I first married. Snap, I have a Booths 'Real Old Willow' plate displayed on my wall. I love reading your blog. Best Wishes Daphne
Babs, I'm always in the mood for blue and white dishes, especially blue willow!
What's not to love about this? It has urns and books and blue and white and boxwood-all favorites of mine! I think it is aperfect year round look.
Mmmmm....pretty! You've given me a little boost, too. I am doing my stepdaughter's 30th birthday party in Asian-inspired decor since she wanted Chinese food to be served. I've been torn between a color scheme of red & black or blue & white. Looking at your pretty vignette, I am reassured that the blue & white will "feel" much cooler in these triple digit temps. Now...to get started!
What a beautiful vignette! It looks wonderful and is appropriate for any time of year in my opinion!
Beautiful Babs! Love the boxwood stems...what a great idea. I don't know how they will dry but if they brown you can use them for fall decorating! Lovely vignette!
I love the blue and white collection mixed with your boxwood plants. Such a pretty combination! I have some of those preserved boxwood topiaries that are sold now and they advise that you mist them with water every now and then. You might try that.
I do like your urns. They would look great with boxwood balls too!
Love the way the color of the blue china "pops" off the green of the boxwoods.
Hi Babs....love the boxwoods in the urns...not too bushy at all...and the blue is wonderful all year long..
is it as hot up by you as it is down here...I hate to leave the house, the heat takes your breath away....I can't wait until September!! Sue.
Babs~ I love your mixed blues! I'm a bit blue since have the feeling fall is a long way off for us with a lot more HOT weather ahead :) Your boxwood clippings are perfect for your new thrifted urns!
Looks great, Babs. What an awesome vignette. xo
Beautiful, Babs! Don't think your boxwood is too boxy...love it. 99 cents for that cute bowl....wow!
Oh I love it. I am so ready for fall and to have all the really unreal hot temps gone. Love your new urns and your beautiful blue and white pieces create such a lovely vignette. Gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
