Halloween Hutch 2012

Hi, everyone! Sorry, I haven't posted much lately. In true Halloween spirit, my old faithful desktop has become "possessed"...it's enough to make me scream. I have a laptop, and could use that, but I like my old desktop because it has a photo editing program I'm comfortable with, and I'm not desperate enough to fiddle with something new...just yet.

Any-way (sigh)...On a happier note...I finished decorating the kitchen hutch, so I'll show you now...before more weird things happen to my computer.

As you probably guessed, my hutch holds every day dishes...

...and since I have majolica plates in green and gold, I decided to use them for Halloween. I like the way they look with orange and black...

...almost a vintage deco Halloween look.

Here's the faux chalkboard from an earlier post...black mondo grass in a white pot, and a bowl of Kit Kats...what else?

Top shelf...a vintage pumpkin and bedraggled crow...sorry about that little blue tape on the shelf..it's holding the spider's thread...

...here's another spider on the top shelf...waiting to pounce...

...don't worry though, all my critters are friendly...well, most of them.

Are y'all ready for Halloween?
I may have to buy more Kit Kats...some of them have disappeared.  Spooky! ;)
Hugs, and see y'all at these parties ~

Sorry about your computer woes...when someone disappears for awhile, that's usually why. I hope you get to the bottom of the problem!

  9. So cute Babs! Love your dishes and cute halloween accents! Those kit kats wouldn't last long here! I'm just starting to think about adding some Halloween accents. I'm not doing a lot this year- keeping it simple is my motto this season!

  10. I really like your green cabbage or lettuce leaf plates. The look great behind the pumpkins in orange cups. Cute Halloween decor too.

  11. I'm sorry you're having computer woes, Babs. These things are a blessing and a curse...the curse part it appropriate for the Halloween season, I suppose! ;-) When I first saw that black cat, I thought "vintage art deco." It reminds me of something my Mom had around the house when I was a kid...and I am definitely of a vintage age! :-) The spots of green in there really liven up the setting, but it is VERY Halloweeny! Enjoy your weekend!!!
