But, with the temps still in the mid to high 80s, I'm not making much progress.
I did move the coasters, magazines and remotes from the family room coffee table, and gave it a "less cluttered" look.
I put Autumn Joy and a few hydrangea leaves in a kitchen crock...
...added reproduction Shaker boxes...
...books and a vintage clock...switched the pillows on the couch...
...and to make things look a little more "fallish", used the Dusk setting on PicMonkey.
I'm headed to the garden center this morning, hoping they'll have some Fall plants in, because the flowers in my containers look pitiful, and need to be replaced.
Have y'all started planting your Fall containers yet?

Your coffee table looks perfect...not as light as summer, but definitely no tell tale orange!! I really love the area rug underneath.
ReplyDeleteWe use pansies or mums for our fall plants...not sure yet what I'll do. I always say simple and then do the opposite!!
XO,
Jane
Your coffee table looks lovely along with your entire living room and VERY FALLISH...hardly slowly my friend! I also love the boxes.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
FABBY
Wow! I love the dusk setting you used. I took one today and wanted it to look a little darker...I'll try that. I love that table...it looks like my furniture! I can't wait to get some pots of mums! Enjoy your afternoon!
ReplyDeleteBabs, your changes are perfect for transitioning into Fall! I've gotten the inside decorated; but, it's still in the upper 90's; so, my Fall plantings will have to wait for awhile. Can't wait to get some mums!
ReplyDeleteI'm not even moving! Fall will have to wait. I went to the garden center and was told it could be a couple of months before the fall plants arrive. So we may be into November before I can get any fall color in my gardens.
ReplyDeleteYou are way ahead of me, and it looks nice.
I'm in love with the color combination of your Autumn Joy arrangement, the brown of the couch, and the pillows - yum, yum!!! Sally
ReplyDeleteIt looks great to me! I love the crock and the shaker boxes. That's a look I really love.
ReplyDeleteIt has been in the 90s most days down here. I'm trying to fall up the place, but I really wish the temps would cooperate just a little!
Hi Babs, glad to see you are moving into Fall especially I haven't put one Fall piece out yet. Maybe this weekend, I can get moving into Fall. I've had my mind on making Halloween crafts instead.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Babs! Love the shaker boxes. I planted two pots of mums today. I have two concrete pots beside a bench near the front door, now they have rust and yellow mums. That's it!! :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice change- the crock with the sedum looks great. I'm working into some fall accents too. It's cooled off here and it's starting to feel like fall. I've picked up some mums for a couple of planters and I need to get some gourds. Fall will be here fast and we'll be in full color in a month.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty Babs!
ReplyDeleteThe colors in your family room lend themselves to Fall décor so well. I haven't done any Fall planting outside yet. We are expecting some cooler temps this weekend I heard.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to invite you to the Friday Flash Blog Party, the best linky in town! I hope you'll join us and link up. Who knows. You may just get highlighted!

Your Autumn Joy in that vase with the hydrangea leaves is gorgeous!!! I just found your blog through the hop and I am a new follower!!! Love the title of your blog...I too live in a split level so it gave me a chuckle! Have a great week! Nicole
ReplyDeleteDefinitely warm and cozy. Love the Sedum with the Hydrangea leaves! Perfect intro for fall! I added a few cabbages to some of my pots for a touch of Fall and bought some mums. They do the trick. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
