I'm trying to stop myself from decorating for Christmas, and then moving things around a couple of weeks later.
Let me show you the entry. Hopefully, it'll stay this way til Christmas.
Come on in and let me show you the quick pillow cover I did for the entry bench.
The large pillow was the rust color one from fall. I wanted a black velvet one, so budget friendly me, covered it with a scrap of black velvet from my fabric stash, pinned it in the back with safety pins, and tied a big tartan ribbon on it. Since no one will be sitting on it, the pins won't be seen. Shhh...don't tell.
Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your "finding" me, even though my thumbnails aren't updating.
Have a wonderful Sunday...and a great week, too.

Goodness I love that mirror you have behind your nativity set. Beautiful! Where did you find that?
ReplyDeleteJen, Thanks for asking. I got it at QVC.

Babs, what a great idea for a pillow! The tartan plaid ribbon shows up beautifully against the black velvet. I just love tartan plaids. :)
ReplyDeleteYour nativity scene is one of the prettiest I've ever seen. The pieces are painted so beautifully, and I love your mirror backdrop -- it's GORGEOUS!!
Your entryway is all set for Christmas, and you don't need to change a thing. Thanks for sharing your inspiration with us.
Visiting from Seasonal Sundays.
Hugs to you,

You are so funny!!!! I feel ya on the pin thing. I do that on occasion. I can't sew, so pins are my friend! :-)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty decor! I have NO doubt, however, that you will be making changes throughout the season. That's just you, Babs. It's what makes you special and your home decor so pretty!
Hi Babs- I love what you came up with for the entry! Love that mirroed back drop for the nativity. I have one very similar to it except it's only 3 pieces. The pillow looks great- and no one would know any better about the pins! That's a smart way to get more mileage out of your accent pillows. I'm all for quick and easy :-) I wonder why your thumbnails aren't updating?
ReplyDeleteLove your nativity set and your bunny pillow is really cute!
ReplyDeleteWell, I would never tell -- I just think you are very clever doing a simple, temporary cover for that pillow! Your Nativity is beautiful and the new backdrop is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so pretty, Babs! I would never tell about the pins.... I've been known to do that myself!! The black looks stunning especially with the plaid bow. xo
ReplyDeleteI would never have known the big pillow was just tucked in. I'm so going to steal this idea!
ReplyDeleteOh how gorgeous. I love the pillows and your Nativity is exquisite. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS Babs!! I love that sweet little bunny pillow and the larger black pillow tied with the plaid ribbon...love it all!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore those black velvet pillows...such a beautiful change from traditional reds...love it! I love the elegance of the velvet fabric you chose! I'm also loving the folded mirrored backdrop for your Nativity scene...imparts a beautiful European elegance to your decor! Thanks for inspiring! Hugs, Poppy
ReplyDeleteBabs,
