I wrapped several faux gifts in matching paper from the dollar store...
...in different shapes and sizes...
...gold ribbon from my stash...
...then added votives and a smidge of greenery...
...topped off with a glittery wreath...Done!
Yay... and I already had everything. No rushing around to the mall looking for decorations.
Ha, ha...Yes, I did run around like a crazy woman, and I didn't find a thing...and the traffic was aw-ful!
Tip: If you decide to make boxes for display, before you wrap them, put something in the empty boxes, to make them heavier/more stable.
Don't ask me how many times I knocked over the empty boxes while arranging them. :)

Beautiful, Barbara! Your new fireplace mantel looks great -- I miss the white mantel from our first house. Your tip is a good one and I'll keep that in mind. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and Merry, merry...

BEAUTIFUL Babs!!
ReplyDeleteI may have to steal this idea for next years mantel! Love the height the gifts create and the little bit of shiny and glitter. Just right!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea - affordable but makes a big impact!
ReplyDeleteVisiting for the first time (from N Ireland)

ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty! I wish I had a mantel every Christmas!
ReplyDeletehugs,

The gold really looks elegant. I had planned to wrap small gifts for my dolls to have. I better get busy! Holiday hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea and it's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou always do things up so classy! I just love how your mantel looks. The faux pkg's look so good and I love the touch of greenery you added with it.
ReplyDeleteHow very pretty. Love the wrapped gifts in gold. I can just picture you knocking over the boxes....LOL. happy Holidays.
ReplyDeleteGREAT tip on putting something IN the boxes to stabilize them!!! I found that out through trial and error a few years back, and I ended up using double-sided tape to secure the "gifts" to the floor. Lesson learned!
ReplyDeleteSorry you had to get out there in the fray! I've been doing my best to avoid it all. NOT my idea of fun in any way, shape or form!!!
Have a good weekend!
Babs,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Gold Boxes, dear friend!!!
LOVE the votives and the bits of greenery!!!
Fondly,
Pat
