A Highland Tea

In honor of National Tartan Day,  you're invited to a "Highland Tea".


It's fun to imagine that we're in Scotland and stopping for a little refreshment  while at the highland games. 

I've  opened the  hamper and laid the blanket on the ground...or perhaps you might prefer the little bamboo stool to sit on. The ground is a bit damp today.


Of course, everything is served on a silver tray, lol, with the "Monarch of the Glen" holding the candles.


Please help yourself to tea and shortbread.


Or if you prefer...


a little "fortification" against the cold. Just a wee dram, of course.





I hope you enjoyed our outing for Tartan Day.

The bamboo stool was my mom's when she was a little girl.
The candle holder, silver tray and tea cup, I've had for years.
The hamper and Ralph Lauren glass are from Goodwill, and the little book is from a dear friend in Clan Stewart.

    I didn't know it was a holiday on Saturday. It was a gorgeous, but windy day. Sunday was the best and windy again today. Most of my yard work got done. Such a pretty setting with the tartan and silver.

    Babs, your Highland tea is perfection. Love the outdoor setting and all the wonderful details.     OMG! How absolutely perfect Babs! Your Highland tea is amazing. Love the tartan of course, but also your Mom's bamboo stool, RL highball glass, and the cup and saucer!     Even if I weren't Scottish, I would love this setting! Just look at the lichens on the rock! The stool and stag are perfect for this setting! Nicely, nicely done -- makes me want to picnic!
