I'm of Scottish descent and can wear several tartans, but the MacGregor tartan is the one I wear most often.
The one above with the clan badge is the Rob Roy (MacGregor) tartan.
You don't have to have an "official" tartan to join in the fun, just show anything tartan or plaid that you like...a scarf, placemats, or whatever.
I hope to see y'all with your tartans flying!
Here's a little hint for a post I'll be doing for Tartan Day. This photo shows the modern MacGregor tartan.
So come on tartan lovers "show your colors" and publish your post for National Tartan Day.
If you'd like more information on Tartan Day, here is the link for the official website.

Some states actually have an official tartan. You can see them here.

Thanks for stopping by.
Babs,
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful post! I don't think I have anything tartan. I'll be by to see all your lovelies!
Also, I haven't thanked you enough for beginning your blog. I adore your site! You have added such a sweetness (along with my other favorites) that brightens my day as I view upstairs downstairs. Keep the inspirations coming, dear friend!
Fondly,
Pat
Babs, I'd love to join in the fun. I'm a fan of tartan! I'll have to get my act together and come up with a post. Thanks for the heads up. Didn't know there was a National Tartan Day. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you! ~ Sarah
Babs, thanks for the invite...I am not Scottish, but do have a tartan from Scotland...guess that solves my post for TT!
ReplyDeleteI have my Galbraith tartan. I am also a McMachen...so yes I am Scotch!!
ReplyDeleteOh I will have to remember that! I have my Galbraith tartan, I am also a McMachen! so yes I am Scotch. We even have a family castle in Scotland, Culcreuch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I don't have any tartan...I think my husband may have a tie but that's it! I love plaid though so I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks you so much for this inspiration. Well done! ~Ann
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! Found you through the Plate Addict. There's nothing Scottish in my heritage, unfortunately (I'm mostly Irish). Could I wear a pretty pink argyle sweater Wednesday? Most of my tartan stuff is wool and I'm ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!
rloneill2,
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm part Irish, too.Yay! Don't worry about not having any plaid to show. Your pink argyle sweater will be a perfect Scottish accent.
Happy to have you join in the fun. Have a great weekend.
Babs
