The Empty Cloche

I was so excited when  I found this cloche last week.

It's fairly large, and since my closets are crammed full, I put it under the plant stand till I could think of something to do with it.

The top of the handle has a neat little sprig design molded in it.  Of course it's green, my favorite color.

Actually, I quite liked it sitting under the plant stand, but I thought..."I can't join Marty's Fall Cloche Party with an empty cloche"...
and being green, it wasn't exactly screaming "Fall".

I stared at the cloche for three days trying to think of what to put under it.
Everything I tried was either too wide or too tall...or turned some weird color under the green glass.
I dragged it upstairs and downstairs. I think it was in every room in the house, except the bathrooms.

Finally, I took it back to the kitchen, and there was this poor little squirrel gathering acorns for Winter. With his paws full and a pitiful look on his face, he scampered under the cloche...

...and there he stayed.

Happy Fall, Y'all!

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Now, I'm off to see all the great ideas at

What a wonderful cloche. The green is terrific. I can just see you dragging it from room to room in your house. :o) I think blogging has made us all a little nuts! Speaking of nuts...love them under the cloche. As always you came up with the perfect thing. Happy Halloween!

It is perfectly splendid. The green is very different, not the regular cloche.

Oh you just cracked me up with your story about dragging your cloche all over the house and trying to find something to put under it. I totally chuckled. Your little squirrel looks fabulous and I think he's just perfect under there. So cute. Thanks so much for joining the party. Hugs, Marty

Love the cloche, wonderful find. I have a trio of squirrels with their acorns on my buffet. Squirrels must love cloches as much as us! Too funny "touring" the house with the cloche.

Yay for the decorative little squirrel who came to the rescue. I think you chose the perfect solution.

And I love the cloche, period. Empty or full.

Ha,ha, ha! You are so funny Babs! That is one nice cloche, it doesn't need anything. I like how you put it under the plant with a pretty plate. How about a little maiden hair fern in it? Once you get that squirrel out of it that is....

What a lovely cloche ~ unusual color and such a pretty handle, too! I think you found the "perfect fit" for it in that sweet lil squirrel with acorns. I gathered a bunch of acorns for a craft project while visiting my mother today!

Hope you enjoy your visit to my Christmas blog and thanks so much for stopping by Angelic Accents today!
