What Happened to Fall?

OMGosh! What happened to Fall?
It's windy and been in the 40s all day.
The weather man's predicting a frost advisory for tonight, and I'm freezing.
This is NOT typical Georgia weather for this time of year.

A cup of hot tea would be the perfect thing to warm up.

The tea tray is ready in the living room...

...in front of the fire.
I also put a piece of tartan on the table...

...to go along with the thistles on the tea set.

Here's a tartan throw I recently found at an antique mall.
It's so soft, and I love the colors.

I love to have candles around the house, too.

The candle holder was made by a local artist and has a different Celtic design on each side. Nandina berries and leaves  look so Fallish with the antler.

Ahh...Perfect! Cranberry-orange scones, a couple of magazines I haven't had time to read, and a nice warm cup of tea.

Hey, come on over. I have lots of scones, fresh from the bakery. You didn't think I baked them did ya?

Here's a cup of tea just for you; and would you like a scone?
I have an extra throw and plenty of magazines, too.

I'm glad you stopped by.
Hugs,
Babs

The setting looks so inviting, especially with your tartan and tea tray...
I'm still slobbering over those cranberry scones, if only I could reach through this computer screen :)
We have a freeze warning tonight too, a little bit early for this time of the year, I've covered evrything with white sheets !
Enjoy your tea !

Oh, how I'd love to be sitting there with you enjoying some conversation and a cup of hot tea. Crazy weather! It was in the 40s here this morning. I'm not ready for a freeze. I'm just now enjoying the crisp days of fall, working in the garden, and delighting in the season. ~ Sarah

What a wonderful invitation!! I can be there in less than an hour. Ha! Your living room looks so comfy and inviting. It would be so relaxing to sit by a warm fire, eating something sweet, sipping hot tea, and reading. Just wonderful! I could use that right about now since I've been painting all week and tending to sick kids. I really haven't had much time for myself all week. I think my kids are finally going back to school tomorrow. Yay! Now, if it will just warm back up, I'll be happy.

Babs,
Couldn't think of a nicer thing to do on a cool afternoon than a cup of tea in front of a fire. Those throws of tartan plaid are stunning! Favorite magazines and a cranberry scone...however the greatest joy would be spending the time with you , dear friend!
Fondly,
Pat

That happens to be my favorite recipe for scones. You know... get in car, drive to bakery.

It has turned colder south of you, too. Honestly, I would love more than 30 minutes of autumn some year around here.

I love your cozy tea time. I might just march into my living room and copy you with one of my own this afternoon.

What an inviting room and lovely tea setting. And yes, I was totally ready for you to share the recipe for those scones. Oh well, saves me time baking (wink!).

Beautiful, Babs! I'll be there this afternoon for tea with you! :-) Sorry about the weather you guys are having. Temps have been below average here in the Kansas City area, too. And the wind has been absolutely unforgiving!!! Today is the first calm, sunny day we've had in awhile. I am SO not ready for winter!!! :-(

I so want to join you for that tea. Oddly, I don't think it's as cold here (Ontario) but it will be much colder so you can take heart in that. :)
