It's been so warm here in Georgia; it really feels like Spring is here. Yesterday, I worked in the yard a bit, and pruned the Natchez crepe myrtle in the front yard. Hubby trimmed the monkey grass, thank goodness...not one of my favorite things to do.
I've been putting off pruning, because I was afraid we'd get a freeze. But, our Georgia groundhog, General Beauregard Lee, said we'll have an early Spring, so I guess I'm ok.
Our Winter Daphne, out back by the shed, and the daffodils in the side yard, have started blooming. The fragrance of the daphne is heavenly; so, I cut some and added a few of the daffodils, for my bedside table.
I won't show you the rest of the bedroom, since it really isn't blog ready... you know...I haven't ironed the sheets and pillowcases or straightened the rest of the room.
This little majolica pitcher is one of my favorite antique store finds. I don't know the pattern or maker, but I just love it.
I wish you could smell the wonderful fragrance.
Hope you have beautiful weather and a great weekend.
Hugs,
Babs

Daffodils are so pretty and with such sweet fragrance, I can smell it. I love your pitcher, it is a beauty and certainly your bedroom is lovely...even if you haven't iron anything.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend. Hugs,
FABBY
Look at you with flower cuttings already. It has been strangely warm this year. My verbena has never quit blooming from last year. It only has a couple, but really should have died out. Still green and thriving. My petunias on the deck are still green, but no blooms. I love your majolica vase.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Babs and I love your little majolica pitcher! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteBabs, love the majolica vase and your pretty blooms. I love to have daffodil blooms in the house, but haven't seen them in the grocery store yet. Hopefully soon!

Gorgeous pitcher and the flowers are heavenly. Wish I had some, the smell really is wonderful. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you're cutting flowers. This has been one of the strangest winters as far as weather is concerned. It's been in the 50's here this week. I sure hope it doesn't mean we'll have blizzards in April! I wish I could smell the fragrance too. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteFlowers blooming! Oh I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Love the little majolica pitcher too...very sweet :o)

Beautiful as always. I saw our daffodils and jonquils popping up their heads along my way yesterday. I had figured that they would.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you used yours. I know what you mean about the fragrance. (And I know what you mean about something not being "blog ready" too. ha!)
Actually, I cheered when the Pennsylvania groundhog saw its shadow. I was hoping General Lee would see his too. But alas, I will just trust God and go ahead and call it spring.
You have been doing exactly what we have been doing. I am going after our monkey grass today. Some I sit down and trim with scissors-it's an awful job but worthwhile later on. The pitcher is a wonderful find and I fear my room would never be blog worthy. Have a happy weekend, olive
ReplyDeleteI love that Daphne! I don't have any. That was a good idea to clip some off and put it by your bed like that. Your bedding looks very pretty! I hope you'll share it some time. Hasn't the mild weather been nice? I don't think we've ever been able to get out and work in the yard this early before.
ReplyDeleteMy Jonquils here in Missouri are up several inches and have big buds. never heard of in Feb. I hope the Lord knows what he is doing, as I love spring and am so sad when they are all frozen by late winter weather. I wish I was there to enjoy yours. Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteSimply. Not. Fair. ;0) It will be almost May before I see those! I am imagining the beautiful smell and enjoying them on your nightstand! Hope you are having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little vase. I am wanting a cold snap with a little snow, maybe it will kill all the germs that are wreaking havoc with everyone...then it can warm up enough to make me believe spring is here!
ReplyDeleteYour weather sounds like what we're having here. My daffodils are about ready to bloom. I love daffs, my favorite flower. I love the little majolica pitcher in your bedroom. So lovely with the arrangement on your table.
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying these lovely temps as much as I am. I'm a little worried about not having any cold/freezing temps. Hope the insects don't take over this year……….

Emily

HI Babs-
ReplyDeleteWell we are a ways from spring here, but it has been warm for us and light on snow! No one is complaining- except the ski lodges and snowmobilers. How nice that you already have some flowers! I won't be able to do that until April/May.
Have a great rest of the weekend!
Liz
I envy you your daffodils and I've heard of daphne but haven't really seen it!
ReplyDeleteI also love your pitcher -- it is really pretty.
Babs,
ReplyDeleteThese florals are lovely! I can imagine the fragrance is heady from the daphne, alone. Combined with the daffodil, it truly sounds heavenly, dear. Your Master Bedroom looks divine, indeed. Is there a reveal in the making? I'll be checking back just in case!!!
Fondly,
Pat
This is so pretty I can almost smell it! :D Spring is coming!
