It's cold and rainy today, so, I thought if I started changing things around in the house, maybe I'd get out of hibernation mode.
I went into the living room and saw the Christmas poinsettias...still there.
Yes, I know it's February, but the dratted things just won't die, and I don't have the heart to throw them on the compost pile...just yet.
OK, maybe I can use them for a breakfast table arrangement.
I grabbed the tartan throw I recently found at a thrift store, and started setting the table. Then I remembered the cute set of snowman bowls we received as a hostess gift during Christmas.
They're stacking bowls and different sizes, but for cereal that's ok...Hubby likes a large bowl of cereal anyway.
The little bowl is mine. I'll probably use it for a small fruit bowl.
As you can see, I tucked the poinsettias in a large mixing bowl, added some Spanish moss and placed a larger plate underneath it. Then, I added a couple of candles, and that was it.
I'm starting to feel sleepy again, and that blanket looks so soft and warm...I'll just snuggle down for a minute...just for a minute...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. :)
I'll be joining these parties:
Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday
No Minimalist Here for Open House Party
The Thrifty Groove for Thrifty Things Friday
The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sunday

Hi Babs, that's cute as can be! I can't believe your Poinsettia looks that good, you must have a wonderful green thumb. Any houseplant I've ever had has suffered from my neglect! I love the little snowmen bowls!
Cute table setting. We have had some dreary gray days. Yesterday was gorgeous though. That kind of weather needs to come back.
A pretty tartan plaid makes everything better! Really cute tablescape!
Your table setting is very cheerful and wintry looking! All that's missing is a fireplace beside the table and hot coco in the mugs. I'm hoping for an early Spring too!
Very cute, love your snowman dishes! If we must endure Winter we might as well enjoy Snowmen! Thanks for sharing. Visiting from BNOTP
Your table looks beautiful Babs! LOVE that throw! You are not alone I just thru out my last poinsettia this week, yours looks like you just bought it!
Same here, rainy and dreary, but not so cold. A great day to curl up with a book. I like your idea better. Love the tablescape and how you used the poinsettias. Lovely using the red and white with your new bowls. I'm sure this brightened up your day…….

I love the tartan throw!! So cute. We can't decide if we want winter here or not. 56 one day and snow the next! XO Cindy
Can't believe you found the blanket at GW. Amazing. It's gray and damp here too. Not that cold but the dampness goes right through you. You are nice to set such a fun table for your husband. We usually eat in front of the TV. :o)
How cozy Babs. Your white looks perfect against the tartan plaid throw. I too am amazed your poinsettias still look so good. I would have a hard time throwing them out too! :)
Great job.

Lovely table vignette! The tartan throw looks so beautiful as a table cloth too! Have a great weekend!!!

Babs, I've been cold all day and feeling as if a cold is coming on. Just want to snuggle in and do nothing. Your table looks inviting. Love that throw you found and your little snow people bowls are darling. ~ Sarah
I love your table setting and LOL poinsettias... Ive never had them stick around for long so youre lucky! XD The snowmen bowls are darling! :)
Hugs,
Cute table...love the snowmen plates. The tartan throw makes a great tablecloth.
I have tried so many times to keep a poinsettia alive, they die almost as soon as I bring them into the house.
What an adorable table! Love the red tartan table!! Sweet snowmen just make me smile!! Thanks for sharing!!

Love the snowmen plates and the table looks great.
I still have a poinsettia that is looking to good to throw out yet.
Love those snowman bowls!
What a pretty tablescape! I just love the classic red and white together, such a crisp look! Cute little snowmen! You must have a green thumb, that poinsettia looks great!
For heaven's sake...what are you FEEDING those things?!??!?!! They look better than brand new!!! Look at the color!!! Mine still looked really great, too, but I finally bid them adieu a couple of weeks ago. Sad to see them go. I should have just stuck them in the window of a seldom-used room and done an experiment on just how long they could survive. Maybe next year! Meanwhile, great winter table and the tartain throw makes it look EXTRA inviting and warm!
Never expected to see at Christmas table scape in Feb. But it works, and I say, why not? Richard from My old Historic House.
I love this!! So festive and I love snowmen!!
A very sweet winter table. My poinsettias won't die either. Not that I really want them to. It's just that they're beginning to look a little out of place. I still have a poinsettia plant from three years ago. It looks like bonsai. Ha!
Don't you just love red and white? And that is a beautiful plaid to use.The whole table is just striking!
Love your cute post! Love the snowmen. I am ready for Spring!
I love this table, Babs!
Jim is home from hospital and now all I want to do is hibernate the rest of the winter.LOL
Babs,
When the weather gets like that on the Prairie...I head to the lower level living area. Few windows...so I don't know what the weather is doing. Creating in the Art Studio with the Classical Music...I can lose track of time!
Fondly,
Pat
Hi Babs,
Your poinsettia still looks amazing! I've stopped buying them because mine barely last until Christmas. I don't have the right kind of light for them in our house.
Your winter table looks so cozy and inviting; the snowmen bowls are adorable. I'm thoroughly enjoying all the beautiful tartan plaids that I've been seeing everywhere this winter.
Happy Seasonal Sunday!
Denise at Forest Manor
So cute, cozy and warm. The bowls are adorable!
I just threw my poinsettias out yesterday! I was just tired of them and they don't go with the St. Pat's decor I am bringing out!
BTW, I hope you will join my blog crawl on the 13 th. Anything green or related to the holiday!
It is sunny and crisp here in NY, hope you are getting some better weather.
This weather was made for reading, movies and naps.
So warm and snuggly!
