I Keep Saying...

I  keep saying I'm not going to buy any more blue things for the house. I mostly use Fall colors, and buying blue things causes me to have to buy something else to go with it. You know how it is...you buy a top in a great new color, and then you have to buy shoes and jewelry, because you don't have anything to go with the top...

But, this morning it was senior day at GW, and when I saw these two Sarah's Garden Wedgwood plates...$1.43 for both of them, I just couldn't say "no"...

...so I started scrounging the house and shed to see what I could find to make a tablescape. I already had a set of Copeland Spode plates which sort of work, even though there isn't any blue in them...

...each plate has different flowers, and I chose these with the dahlias. The first one is called a single dahlia and this one is just called "dahlias".

I also found this oval container at GW, this morning...$1.21 minus 25%...only 91 cents...cha ching!

I kept the green placemats from my last post, and found a few faux flowers from last Fall...

...I got this pitcher with my birthday gift card from World Market...back in April...I don't think I've shown it before. It's little raffia cover unbuttons and comes off so it can be washed...

...I already had two Bordallo Pinheiro leaf plates and some April Cornell napkins...

...I didn't have to buy anything to go with the plates, and for a grand total of $2.48, I don't feel too badly about buying more blues.

Hugs, and I'm off to party with:

Babs, how could you possibly have left these behind. Sarah's Garden is a beautiful pattern, especially these blue with the butterfly. I think it goes perfectly with the golden leaf dish and those gorgeous napkins. No question, this is a beautiful table setting. Can't believe the price. ;-)

Heavens to Betsy, Babs...you scored big time!!!! I need to inquire about Senior Day at Goodwill around here. I'm not sure at what age they start allowing you to participate. If it's 55, I only have a few months to go. If it's anything beyond that, though, I need to start picking my Mom up 'cause I can't wait!!! Don't stop buying blue...it's a classic, beautiful color and you're able to pair it with so many other colors!!! Just look at what you did with these beautiful plates!!!!!!! I have seen that cool raffia glassware at World Market and wondered how one might go about cleaning it. Buttons, huh? Great idea! The leaf bowls are the PERFECT touch of color, texture and height. Very pretty table!!!!!!

I envy your good luck at your Goodwill! Ours has very little of interest to me. The plates are just gorgeous! They actually go nicely with a lot of colors. Your table reminds me of a gorgeous garden in bloom! Everyone plays together so well!;-D

The addition of the blue doesn't make it one bit less autumnal. It just makes it all the prettier. I love the way the butter yellow looks with it.

And that rattan cover for the glass and pitcher is very, very cool!

I love your thought process but I'm glad you bought the lovely Wedgwood plates. They are great with the Spode and compliment the yellow leaf plate. You are a very thrifty shopper and I enjoyed shopping ar GW on vacation. I am now seeing what they have at home. My SA has always been my best source for bargains. Loved your table setting!

Thanks, Pam
