In the last post, I used the Fall colors of the Pashmina for the sofa table. Now, I'm using the same colors on the mantle. Duh! Who would have thought? :)
As you can see, I still haven't changed the mantle or painted the brick.
I can't make up my mind what I want to do, so I just piled on the mantle decorations, did the Scarlett O'Hara thing, and said, "I'll think about that tomorrow."
I love traditional looks for Fall...candles, books, Fall foliage, and of course, antlers.
Slightly off center, I put a painting of the Clan Gregor badge that our son did. It usually hangs on the opposite wall above a bookcase, but now that I've moved it to the mantle, I kind of like it here for a change.
The floral arrangement is made from odds and ends I've used in old Fall wreaths and baskets, etc.
The container is a thrifted ceramic planter, but it was cream with a pastel della robbia swag on it...not terribly fallish, so I spray painted it ORB.
Here, you can see the different elements in the day time...
...and at night, with the candles lit...
...ahhh...the warm glow of Autumn.
Hope y'all like my Fall mantle.
Hugs,
Babs

Love antlers for fall.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Babs! Just the right touch for fall. I like the painting and the floral arrangement is wonderful! Now I have to stop putting off doing my mantel!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I'm trying so hard to get in the mood for fall! I do love when the days are warm but not hot and the evenings have a crispness to them. I also love hearing the beat of the drum and hearing the sounds of football games! Oh yes, and caramel apples too!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Very well done. I just love candle light!!!
ReplyDeleteThe mantle is so pretty with the candle light!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with it, Babs! I understand the procrastination in changing your mantel and fireplace surround. I have put it off for a long time, too. That's a lot of work, and not exactly cheap! I would love to have our family room completely changed to include white woodwork instead of the deep-colored oak and a more stylish surround. Maybe someday!
ReplyDeletevery pretty, love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI want my neighbor/friend to paint her brick on her fireplace but she looks at me as if I am crazy so I guess not. Your mantel is lovely and I love the antlers up there. Makes me want to play with my fall stuff(I am supposed to be resting however). xo. olive
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mantle, I love the candlelight photos, Visiting from SS at the Tablescaper. xo
ReplyDeleteI love how it turned out! It's so lush and pretty. I agree about the books and the antlers. They are a favorite of mine all year long really. They look perfect combined with your fall foliage.
ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks so pretty for fall, Babs! I love the glow of candles, too! Now off to catch up with your posts...lots of babysitting since my daughter had jaw surgery! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteLove it Babs! Your arrangement looks perfect! The painted planter ooks wonderful in that oiled bronze look-perfect! Love your son's picture with the grouping....The antlers add a great touch! I still don't own any and I probably could find some in the woods around here! I felt like I needed something next to my arrangement and these candle votives seem like just what I needed! I see some Nell Hill's inspiration here too! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love all the Fall touches in your mantel. The antlers, books and florals look great! I love the night shots- very nice!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your Fall decor. Thank you for sharing this at my Make it Pretty Monday party at The Dedicated House. Hope to see your prettiness again on Monday. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
