Falling into October

Hey, y'all!

It's been pouring rain for two days (I'm thankful), and I've been having fun hanging around the house and decorating, using things I already had. Here are a few things I've been doing.
You're gonna see the usual Fall things...

...pumpkins, leaf plates...dried okra pods...doesn't everyone use dried okra pods in Fall decorating?

A vintage hunt scene...

...you can see the okra pods and the hydrangeas a little better here.  Ok, let's leave the foyer, and I'll show you how I fallified the book case in the living room.

Of course, in my house, antlers in an urn are a given, as are old books and a pair of bird plates. It's getting so dark, I had to light candles and turn on some lights, so you can see...

...pheasants on one plate...

...quail on the other...

...and, another pheasant on a needlepoint pillow on the sofa. It may be a bit early for pheasants and quail, but they're some of my faves, so...
I'm flying off to join Alison @ The Polohouse for Favorites on the First.
Hugs...See y'all there.

  13. I'm going to have to hunt down someone who grew okra over the summer so I can do some of those pods. I know I have seen them at the floral design center, but it would be kind of cool to do them myself...I think. Lookin' good, girlfriend!!!

  20. I love the pheasant plates best of all, but I also love the idea of the dried okra pods. I've never seen anyone do that, and it's really perfect in that arrangement.

  21. Babs, I love your vignettes. You know I love hunt scenes and can't go wrong with antlers. Oh, how I want a marble lamp like yours. Still on the hunt for one with the right price.

  22. So homey and festive. I have to admit that I don't decorate with dried okra. :o) Not even sure where I'd get it! Yours looks fabulous though. Very fallish yet a natural item with texture. Can't go wrong. Hope you are well...have a good week! Did you see Upstairs Downstairs last night?
