Gosh, I feel like I'm a month behind getting things ready for Christmas. Here's the tablescape I hope to use Christmas morning...of course I'll have to change out the greenery by then...and...there's another thing which I can't decide about. Will you tell me what you think?
Here we go...
...plaid table runner...
...Nikko Christmastime plates...
...a pot of paperwhites...
...red plates with a berry sprig and green plates with holly...
...red wooden tray to hold fresh greenery, candle sticks, a few mercury glass ornaments and wicker stars...
...Christmas cups for coffee...
...summertime wicker covered glasses...uhhhh...
...what do you think about the wicker covered glasses? Should I look for some red or green stemware?...hmmm.
I don't know why I'm so frazzled this year...HELP!!
Sending lots of hugs and trying not to get my tinsel in a tangle,
Babs

Your table looks lovely just the way it is, so very festive in red and green. I guess you could change the glasses, but why sweat the small stuff? Enjoy the season!
ReplyDeleteHugs and happy holidays,

You aren't alone in the frazzled group. I'm behind and frazzled too, and there is NO good reason for it but my inability to focus.
ReplyDeleteAs for the table, I love it already, especially that centerpiece. I have wanted a look like that for either of my tables, and I can't seem to find the right base for it.
I like the wicker look stemware because it's different. Red or green would be pretty too, though.
PERFECTION Babs!! I wouldn't change a thing!
ReplyDeleteYour table looks beautiful! The centerpiece is gorgeous, and I'm all about the plaid. The Christmas plates and cups are charming, and honestly, I think your wicker covered glasses are fine. I think you could go either way; if you're already frazzled, you might want to skip shopping for red or green stemware this year.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks lovely -- have a wonderful week! Visiting from Let's Dish.

Babs, I would love to have breakfast at this table.. just adore it all. The plaid runner (I have the napkins.. check Macy's they were on deep deep sale). The Nikko dishes always have spoken to my heart. I really really love the centerpiece. Going to have to borrow that one. So you could change out the glasses, but you know, I do like that they are rattan. It adds a bit of casualness. Great table.. xo marlis
ReplyDeleteYour table looks lovely the way it is! I wouldn't stress out about the glasses.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the plaid runner and with the paperwhites as the centerpiece, it's perfect! I wouldn't stress about the wicker glasses. They give a casual feel with the plaid and look so pretty. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYour table is lovely and perfect with all the greenery and the pretty dishes! Don't worry about the glasses, please! One day I did a beautiful table, the dishes, the napkin rings, the table topper, etc.. just terrific..BUT!, guess what? I had forgotten all the silverware and didn't even notice it, so when we did it was sooo FUNNY!!! Happy holidays.

Your Paperwhites are lovely - just perfect opening. It looks like you're ready!!
ReplyDeleteBabs, I love you table as is! I think the glasses go very well with the plaid runner. Sorta like using the wicker chargers. I am seeing a lot of them turning up in Christmas tables capes.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore the red wooden tray. Makes me wanna go out and find one. I have to remember I am not decorating this year.
I am asking all my family to come home for Christmas next year.
Merry Christmas, Ginger
Babs, I'd love to have Christmas morning breakfast at this delightful table. I don't think you need to change a thing............Sarah
ReplyDeleteI love al the delectable decor you have here! So many pretty festive colours! :D

Love the red tray with the paperwhies and greenery. The dishes are so pretty. I love the shape of the cup.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great Babs ! How about a 1/4" wide satin ribbon in red or green woven in and out or just tied around the wicker glass holders. That would tie them in to the seasonal look!
ReplyDeleteDon't you dare remove those wicker covered glasses! I love how they match the rustic warmth of your table setting. Love how you used rich reds and greens mixed with natural elements. The touch of plaid is perfect. This is one of my favorite table settings I've seen.
ReplyDeletevery nice and I love your christmas cup!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and festive table! I really love the centerpiece. I'm hoping the paperwhites I've started will bloom in time! If not, we'll enjoy them whenever. Voting to keep the glasses -- the wicker echos the rustic stars nicely and adds a little more texture!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would change anything on this gorgeous table. I love the Christmas filled wooden box on the tartan...nope, don't change a thing, Babs!
ReplyDeleteBabs,
ReplyDeletePERFECTION displayed through this Christmas Tablescape!!!
Wicker covered glasses help little ones hands to grasp the glass!!! Red would be stunning, too!!! Whatever you decide, I'm sure they will be dimmed by the continual love gathered around your table, dear friend!!!
Enjoy!!!
Fondly,
Pat
I like Liz's idea and I like Tricia's observation, too. Either way, you're golden! I know it's hard not to freak out a little when you feel as if you're running behind. Chill, baby, chill! :-) You know you're got it going on!!! If you just feel that you just must change the glasses, red would look terrific. I think you already have enough green going on with your centerpiece greenery. I LOVE your centerpiece! That bright red box is great!!!! Oh, how I wish I could get my hands on magnolia leaves!!!!!!! Looking good, Babs!
ReplyDeleteAs far as your "List to do" goes.... Check off "Beautiful Tablescape". You've got that done! (BTW, I like the wicker.)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't change a thing, Babs. Love the plaid runner and paperwhites.
ReplyDeleteIt is so funny,I have the same problem. Hard to decide when we have so many options, lol. I am sure whichever you decide will be lovely. They all look spectacular....Christine
ReplyDeletelove all the textures and layers!!
ReplyDeleteI Love your table, it looks so fresh and festive. Love the texture of the glasses, don't change a thing. Time to take a deep breath, read my blog post I just wrote, maybe it will help a little bit. Hard to keep it all moving along smoothly this time of year. Merry Christmas,
