Mustard and Turquoise

Earlier this week, I spent an hour or so, in one of my favorite antique/decor stores.
It's kind of that in-between time of year for shopping, and I didn't see anything that really struck my fancy...until I started to leave...and saw these cuties.

They were just sitting there with their chubby little mustard-color bodies and turquoise tips on their wings and tails. Not a color combo I've used before, but their cute little faces just made me smile, so...you got it...they came home with me.

While I looked around the house for "vignette makings", I decided to relax with...

...a cup of chamomile and lemon tea...and a couple of cookies.

Looking around, I actually had a few mustard or turquoise things...a turquoise vase and a mustard-color Shaker box. The colors seem to work with the browns, creams and taupes in the family room.

Mustard and turquoise...a new color combination for me. I don't know if I'd do a whole room in it, but...maybe a pillow? Hmmm...

What do you think? Do any of y'all combine these colors?
I'm going to sit here with my cup of tea and watch the birds...got my binoculars ready.
Hugs, and hope y'all have a great day,
Babs

Yes, I definitely do. I have a muted mustard and turquoise in the Livingroom and Master Bedroom. I love those colors together. Your new birds and your vignette are fabulous. Great find. Thanks tons for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty

The title of your post on my sidebar caught my eye so I clicked over immediately. Yes, I've seen turquoise and mustard together. I remember clothing pieces in this color combo by Liz Claiborne and loved it (bought a few pieces). So you're in good company! The birds are adorable.

Good Evening Babs, Do you know I have never used mustard and turquoise together in my home. But having said that, I love how the little birds look beside your turquoise vase. You've given me something to think about.
I'm not surprised you took the little birds home, they are so sweet.
Have a lovely evening.
Best Wishes
Daphne

Babs,
What an adorable vignette using yournewest find! Love the turquoise and the mustard together!!!
I agree, that this is a time when we are out of the Christmas decor, but too early (even for me) to begin Spring decor!
I thought the use of binoculars in your vignette was right on target. The birds at the feeder have really been delightful to watch this past week!
Fondly,
Pat

Looks like a good combo to me Babs. You know how much I like the turquoise color but I hadn't thought about mustard with it but I think it is a hit. Great little birds and I like the idea of watch birds with the binoculars, I spied them quickly. Have fun!

That is such a pretty figurine! I like it on your coffee table. This time of year is fun to walk around antique shops and see what can be added to our home to freshen it up for the new year. Looks like you lucked out!

I don't know that I have ever combined the two, but they are great together! It's fun to experiment with colors! Yes...a pillow would be great to go with it. Just a little touch, like you said.

I can see why you were drawn to these, so adorable! My hubbie gave me some candlesticks from McKenzie childs that are turquoise and gold and they are stunning but I didn't think I had anything to go with them...it's amazing what you can find when you stop and look around! I love your vignette with the tea and fancy cookies, so pretty! Love the binoculars, very clever!

That is so sweet, and you put together a really lovely vignette. Oh, yes, I combine colors. I would definitely combine this mustard and turquoise -- I would decorate with it, and I would wear it, too!
