Pink Pigs and Glass Frogs

Hubby and I spent Valentine's Day flea-tiquing and lunching in a small town near us. I hadn't been there in several months, even though I usually find something each time I go.  The antique mall isn't one that has French country grain sacks, or investment quality antiques...(not that I could afford that anyway). But, it does have lots of fun retro things to browse, and the prices are very reasonable. :)
Just for fun, I thought I'd show you a few things I didn't get. Want to go shopping?

How about some pink pigs?...

...or a large portrait of someone's 3rd great grandmother...

...a toy salad set in it's original box?

...glass flower frogs? I saw lots of these...

...a vintage toiletry set...Hmmm...

...shelves of vintage Hull and McCoy pottery...

...vintage bar ware...

...a large secretary full of china...

...and a basket of old casters.

See anything you like? Yes? No?
How about some lunch? I could use a sandwich right about now, and the owner of the antique shop recommended a little place just down the road.
I'll show you that on my next post...but what did I buy at the antique mall?
You probably guessed...

...yep... another glass paperweight.  What is is about clear glass paperweights with bubbles that I like? I have no idea.

I had hoped to work in the yard tomorrow, doing some pruning and cleaning up. But, there's a slight chance of snow in the early morning, so I'll probably just sit around in my jammies and watch a gardening program on tv. Do y'all have any special plans for the weekend?

Hugs,
Babs

Hi Babs, I will gladly take the McCoy pottery. I had a clear glass paperweight for sale in a shop for a long time and I finally brought it home. I wanted to cut back my monkey grass but it is going to be awfully cold. So I may go to estate sales instead-that's more fun:} Olive

Babs,
Oh, dear friend...you and I should do this virtual shopping more often! I'll pass on the pigs, but the vintage barware...the mixer with the Pheasant...I purchased in Germany for $20.00 when new!!! I love your newest find!!!
Tomorrow, I plan to venture to our Antique Mall on the west side of town...weather permitting!!!
I love the idea of "jammin" with you, as well!!!
Thanks for taking me along!!!
Fondly,
Pat

I really like your newest glass paperweight. I find I go through phases of what I'm drawn to. Maybe you're doing the same thing. It's fun I know! I didn't know there was a chance of snow! Yay! I won't hold my breath though since it has missed us every time so far. I told my husband the only reason I like winter is for the hope of a snow day. Otherwise, it can just pass us by and go directly to Spring! LOL.

Babs, it's always fun to tag along with you. Love your new paper weight. '-)
I hope to work in the garden tomorrow. It never did warm up today, just gray and cold. Enjoy your weekend.

These are my kind of treasures Babs. I don't see the French antiques here in Minnesota. This stuff is what I remember from my childhood.

I vote for sittin' around in your jammies! I'm glad you found another glass orb! This one is REALLY cool!!! My plans for the weekend? Continued cleaning & reorganizing. So basically the same thing I was doing all week! :-)

Love the paperweight Babs and so neat to collect them, thanks so much for your sweet comment. I'm sure it's folded tissue, seems like the digitel mamo picks up everything so that's a good thing.

Hi Babs,

It has been snowing here in N.C. on and off all day, and it's bitterly cold and windy. Sitting in your jammies sounds like my kind of day. :)

Your glass paperweight is so pretty; my MIL collects those, too. I think they actually belonged to her mother. It looks like you had fun at the antique mall. I like the secretary full of china and the glass flower frogs.

Visiting from Seasonal Sundays -- have a wonderful weekend!
