Making Sunshine

Well, you guessed it...
...it's dark, gloomy and rainy again, today!
It's so dark in the house, that I did a sunny tablescape to brighten things up.

I got out yellow placemats, tomato shaped pasta bowls and sunny lemons...

...then added in a little green, to go with Zinnias and daylilies from the garden.

While I was playing, I boiled a pot of pasta to make pasta salad.
No recipe...just "whatever's in the fridge pasta salad", dressed with olive oil, tarragon vinegar and Italian herbs.

A bowl of Parmesan cheese will go with it, but somehow, I didn't get a pic of that.

No fancy crackers, just Ritz and saltines...

...brightened with an orange Zinnia.

Are you ready for some pasta salad?

The "sun" is shining. :)

Hugs,
Babs

I love using Zinnias. They last quite awhile to when put in water!! I'm with you - sure wish it would just rain and get it out of its system! Lovely table and the pasta salad looks delish!

That table would definitely brighten up my day! I know you are tired of the rain and gloomy days so you can send that rain west to us . Hoping the weather man is on target with his prediction of rain in our near future. Happy Bastille Day! ~ Sarah

That's my favorite kind of pasta salad! It seems it always turns out great too. I have recently discovered the Ritz fresh stacks and am a bit addicted. I have to be careful not to eat an entire stack at once. There is nothing better that a Ritz. :o)

Good Morning Babs, Oh yes, I am always ready for pasta salad and especially on such a beautifully laid table.
I am sorry to hear about the gloomy weather, I thought your part of the world enjoyed beautiful summers. There must be a blip in the weather as for the past 10 days we have had the most glorious weather here in England and all my flowers are enjoying the warmth... and so am I.
Have a lovely day,
Best Wishes
Daphne

Babs,
Sunny, indeed!!!
These are perfect Summer Sunshine hues, dear friend!!!
Here's to hoping you have a ray of Sunshine through your windows, soon!!!
Fondly,
Pat
P.S. There will be no Zinnias here this year, "Pee Wee" (our resident bunny) liked them immensely!!!

You're right, sometimes you have to make your own sun shine! What a beautiful and delicious looking table!!

Hi Babs, I love your table!!! These colors are so cheerful and perfect together, and they really do shout summer!! I love the tomato shaped pasta bowls and your cheerful, yellow quilted placemats. The zinnias and day lilies add the perfect touch. I have pasta salad in our fridge left over from a family reunion; I wish my husband and son liked it as much as I do. :)

This is a great way to bring in some sunshine! I think we're all starting to feel a little waterlogged this summer. Have a wonderful day, Babs!

Hugs,

Denise at Forest Manor

What a great table for a cloudy day. It's gorgeous! If anything could help cheer one up it would be your tablescape. I love it!

Well, I think you would have certainly chased away the "cloudy blues" with that tablescape. It is fun, bright and cheerful -- doesn't get any better than that! Your "whatever is in the fridge" pasta salad looks amazing!

I'll send you some sunshine if you send us some rain!
