So, I decided to try to make one, too.
I gathered cuttings from the yard...
...and took everything to the deck. I always make a mess, and the deck is easy to clean.
The broom I had, is one of those you see this time of year in the floral section of the grocery store, but I found this one at Goodwill.
I used lace cap hydrangea, purple basil...
...variegated privet, rose hips...
...and a few sprigs of Indian Hawthorne.
I made two bunches, using rubber bands to tie each, then placed the ends together and wired them to the broom.
I hung it on the kitchen door, and added a few more sprigs to fill in.
It probably won't last a long time, since most of the cuttings won't dry in place, but I'm pleased with how it turned out.
I just hope there won't be any critters living in it, like in the front door wreath. The praying mantis lived there for a week and left, but now something else has moved in.
Next time, I'll tell you what's living there now.

Hope you're having great Fall weather.
Hugs,
Babs

It looks gorgeous. I think the rose hips are the perfect touch. In NC we have a lot of bittersweet and I always made wreaths and added it to every arrangement. Enjoy your Sunday afternoon. I'm making another pumpkin...looks a little better than my first one! lol Hugs!
That is absolutely beautiful!!! WOW! And the fact that all of the clippings are from your garden make it that much more stunning! Thanks for the inspiration!!
That's a gorgeous arrangement! I love all of the natural element you chose and tied them together so beautifully. The colors are amazing!!

Wonderful job Babs! The broom is a cute look with the natural elements. :-)
This is really cute, and a change from a wreath!

The flowers and colors you used are just beautiful Babs! I love that you used fresh flowers instead of fake- it makes such a difference.

What a neat idea for a front door decoration!! Everytime I walk into Krogers, I can smell those cinnimon smelling brooms --- Believe I'll do the sme thing!! I love the cinnimon smell in my house.
I love it! It's such a nice alternative to a round wreath. You're getting pretty good at this wreath making stuff! You could make those and sell them.
Your decorative door broom is gorgeous! So beautifully created. TFS. I am now a follower of your blog and look forward to return visits. I invite you to join me as well on my blog at http://atastefultouch.blogspot.com
