I just had to show you this yummy, homemade, pineapple pecan cake, which our crazy, sweet neighbors, across the street...
delivered to us this morning...on their sled. :)
I still have my chafing dish and cans of Sterno ready, in case we lose power.
I'm so ready for this storm to be over. I'm trying to think "Spring", so I'll show you the shamrock mugs I found...four of them. :)
Now, I just need a few more things to make a St. Patrick's Day tablescape. Actually, I need a lot of things.
Hopefully, by tomorrow afternoon, we'll see the back end of this storm. By midday, about 200,000 Georgians were without power, but the crews are working non-stop to restore it.
This time, people took the warnings seriously. They're staying off the roads, which is making things a lot better for the road crews.
Thank y'all so much for all your thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate them.
The storm is supposed to be moving north tomorrow, so everyone take care.
I hope it fizzles out before it gets to you.
xo Babs

How funny...sweets delivered by sled! Stay safe. I hear the Carolina's are being hit hard right now.
XO,
Jane
That's hilarious! Cake by sled? What fun neighbors. You are having a worse winter snow wise than we are in Nebraska. We are just having bitter, bitter cold.
Hope you weather the storm without losing power. Love those mugs.

We're about over it,Babs. WE only lost power for a a little while,I live in the county and our EMC is great about getting power back on. Hope you are staying warm and safe.
Love you post!
Nothing like cake when snowed in...especially when delivered on a sleigh, so nice!
Stay warm!!!
Blessings,
Cindy
Hi Babs, I just love the couple with the sled. They surely know how to have fun!
xoxoGinger
What fun neighbors! That cake looked good. I'm glad to see the sun shining today.
You have some sweet and fun neighbors Babs...that cake looks so good!!
When we watched the news last night, we were so relieved and glad to see the nearly deserted streets on the highways and in downtown Atlanta, GA.!!! We were upset to see that the North Carolina people didn't take heed. It looked really bad there. I hope this all passes on and never comes back for you guys!
I love how the neighbor lady is riding along on the sled!!! We just bought a sled, so that may be us delivering soup later this week! Although I would never subject Ramon to pulling my big body around!!! :-) :-) :-)
Stay warm and safe!
Babs, Glad the worst is over and you didn't loose power.
That cake looks yummy. Sweet neighbors.
Thanks for your message. That was thoughtful.
Love your new shamrock mugs.
Now I should have thought of that when my hubby went sledding with the neighborhood kids...how great to be pulled on that sled!...Glad the worst is over and would you neighbor share that wonderful pineapple pecan cake recipe?...Looks wonderful!
I think 80% of the United States is ready for this winter to be over! Here - ove 65 continuous days of snow cover plus more subzero days since the 1880s! What sweet neighbors. The cake looks delicious! Always good to have alternate energy sources ready :)
What fun neighbors!
I"m impressed that you are already looking ahead to St. Paddy's Day.
Stay warm and cozy inside. ;-)
What fun neighbors! That cake looks SO good! I hope things start thawing out there soon.
What a sweet neighbor you have! And the cake looks scrumptious, especially when delivered on a sled:)Stay warm and safe and hopefully you did not lose power. I am loving the adorable little mugs! Happy Sunday! hugs, Poppy
How fun your neighbors came by sleigh!
We got another 8 last night after 12 earlier. I am afraid our neighbors would need a dog team to get the sled through, but what am I talking about, we have no neighbors in winter! They all flee South!
Glad you are getting ready for St. Patrick's Day, the blog crawl is on the 12th! A least when St. Patrick Day comes, Spring can't be too far behind. Can it??
What fun neighbors!! Being spoiled like that - I'd be wishing for snow at least once a week! Goodness - with this bad weather - it's difficult to think about St. Patricks Day and Easter around the corner.
