Random Things Tuesday

I've been totally unproductive lately. Actually...I'm unproductive a lot, but just more so lately.
It's too hot to cook or work in the yard, and I got stung by something while I was trying to put water in the bird bath. I never saw what it was, but it got my thumb when I was putting away the hose.
This is only the third time something has stung me this summer!
OK, I'll stop whining, and show you what's going on other than that.

There's a frog on the kitchen island.

Early this morning, I picked Zinnias and tomatoes from the garden.
I do love home grown tomatoes.

I bought new curtains and rod for the living room, last week.
I really like the little tabs on the back for the rod to go through. It makes the curtains more pleated than shirred.

It's really hard to get a good pic of them, but they do brighten the living room...a lot.

Curtains closeup...

...old curtains and rod, which I should have updated about 5 years ago.

Now that I have new more neutral curtains, I'm thinking of painting the LR a neutral color. I've been thinking about doing it all year, and keep chickening out, because when I do it, I'm going to paint the brick wall too...which makes me nervous, because if I don't love it, then I'm stuck with painted brick.

Flower...or rather leaf arrangement in the living room.

Love the Caladium Raspberry Moon.
Sorry if I've overloaded y'all with floral arrangements lately. I get on a roll sometimes.

That's it for now. Looking at all my tomatoes, I think I'll make Georgia Cracker Salad for supper. :)

Hope y'all are having a great week.

I've been picking leaves and flowers all summer long. I used to not want to take them off the plants but I'm over that now. They are so enjoyable in the house where we can see them. Your little frog is so cute! Gorgeous curtains & curtain rod too. Little things make us happy, right?

Hi Babs! Love your little froggy filled with the zinnias and nothing is as good as a home grown tomato! Love your pretty new curtains. I've never had any with the tabs in the back but I love the way they hang so much better than rings. I say about the painting - go for it! ;)

That is the most adorable frog!! And how I love your Zinnias!! Now my question to you is--- do you have a frog in your frog to keep your Zinnias "just right??"
And your curtain change is wonderful!! It does brighten up your room!
Just love that frog!!

Too hot here to do much of anything productive unless it is inside. '-)
Wish I had planted some zinnias. Your's are so pretty!

I think Zinnias are one of my favorite flowers, just so happy! They look so cute in the frog! I live in a rented duplex and its painted neutral colors so I'm embracing it and adding color in other ways then the walls! I need new curtains and want some texture and pattern but not lots of color.

I love zinnias but never think to plant them. They were my grandfather's favorites and I can't see them without thinking of him.

I love the new curtains and you are asking the wrong person if you should paint. I have to mull things over for a long time and even when I decide, I feel like I'm getting an ulcer!! Ha! I do think your room would look great in a lighter color and that's only because I personally like neutrals. You just have to decide if you want to jump in, I guess!!

I love your cute frog. We went out to the courtyard to watch one jumping along the roof at sunset! It was funny to see! Enjoy your week! Hugs, Diane

The frog is cute and I like the color! I like the new curtains. Perhaps if you paint the room you will be satisfied and not feel the need to paint the bricks. That's always a scary move to paint them. I like the floral arrangement- I'm staring at my flowers and plants outside looking to do the same. It's only 50 deg. out this morning- it feels so chilly!

We've been enjoying tomatoes from our garden too. I have never heard of Georgia Cracker Salad! I like your new draperies. I think you would like the painted brick. If I had it in my house, it would be painted white. I love that look!
