Simply Monday ~ Random Things

I woke up at 6 am, thinking of the winter storm they've been predicting. It was chilly, but no rain or snow, so I puttered around the house, moving things around.

I made an arrangement for the living room...

Changed out the things on the entry chest...

After breakfast, we ran to the grocery store. I picked up a pork roast to put in the slow cooker...don't laugh at my "vintage" Crock-Pot. It still works, and I can't really justify buying a pretty, new one.

I'd been looking for a round wicker tray for some time, and found this one at GW.
It's just the right size to use on the family room coffee table.

It gave me a reason to clean off the coffee table...it needed it. :)

It looks like the winter storm is on it's way.
The rain has started freezing on the deck chair and Nandina bushes.
I took these pics at 2:30 this afternoon.

Guess we'll have ice on the roads by tomorrow. I've gathered candles, my chafing dish and cans of fuel for it, and charged lots of batteries in case we lose power.

Hugs and stay warm,
xo Babs

Babs, you have been busy. Everything looks very pretty.
We got our Kentucky Snow today and I have to say that I did not do much...except take pictures of the snow, and play with our golden!

I also fixed a pork roast in the crockpot today. I covered it with a package mix for pork chops and it tasted so good. How did you season yours?

Winter is back here as well, Babs. The spring weather was just a tease. Fortunately no ice or snow. Take care and stay inside where it's warm and cozy.

My power has been on and off all afternoon/evening. It was on long enough for me to get some dinner cooked. I've got a cough so I've been wrapped up in a blanket all day trying to get better. Hope tomorrow we thaw out@
hugs,
Linda

We had 6 inches of snow yesterday (only the 2nd of the season) and I did some puttering around the house, too. My day included some décor and quilting. Stay warm and safe and enjoy your beautiful home!

Last night was quite a mess wasn't it? The ice is pretty on the trees though. We kept our power thankfully. Now, I wish it would warm up. Last Saturday was so nice. I have that same crockpot btw. I'd like to have a nicer looking one but ours works fine too. So, it stays. LOL! Your dinner looked good.

Stay warm my friend! I just watched the news and can not believe how much snow and ice some places are getting. Then there's us. . .record breaking warm temps. The newsman said that today was the first day it has been in the 40's in Feb. It was 49. Usually the high is 42. I love your bit of randomness. The arrangement is pretty and it's always nice to clean and area. Glad you will be sharing with SYC.

Hope you did not lose power as I hear that many have in your area...love all of the things that you have done!...Nice to have the day to tweak and fluff!!

I do the same thing- I'm up early and my brain goes into gear and I start plotting! I like your arrangement on the mantel and the new basket you found- it does look perfect! I hope the weather hasn't been too bad for you. We're experiencing such bitter temps that I really dislike! The snowfall has been mild up here by our standards this year but I figure we deserve a break since we have been bombarded the last few years.
