Monograms and Orchids

Hi, Everyone,
This week has really flown, and I'm thinking about Fall.
Don't get nervous, I'm just thinking, not decorating, although I did "edit" the living room, and took a lot of stuff to the shed.
Right now, I'm leaning toward a less cluttered look, which is always a good thing in a small house.
It may be that I just can't make up my mind how I want to decorate...which happens a lot.

When I was at the grocery store yesterday, I noticed they had gotten in some new orchids, so this one came home with me. It's in the entry right now, but I may move it to the living room near the window.

This little frame holds a monogram from my note paper, and usually sits on the secretary. But, I was moving things around, and decided I liked it here for a change.
I used the white crock to hide the plastic pot that the orchid came in,
and added a big square plate to hold it all together.

Simple and clean, and not a Fall color in sight. :)

My monogrammed baseball cap...I've it used a lot this summer, with all the rain and bad hair days.
Guess I'll be wearing it today, since it's raining again.

Hope you're having a good Friday.
I'll be visiting y'all for some Fall inspiration...I need it!
Hugs,
Babs

  1. I love your pretty orchid, and the monogram looks fabulous in the frame. This is my kind of vignette. I am trying so hard to think simple, simple simple. It looks so chic and elegant. Thanks for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, marty

  2. Found you through Lavender Dreamer. :-) Now following via GFC and Feedly. Pretty blog. I love all the whiteness in the photos! and please don't make me think about fall. In NW Wisconsin it is gorgeous, but rapidly followed by the big W. :-(

  3. Babs, your orchid is so pretty; and I love the monogram. I'm looking forward to fall, as well. The cooler temps will be a welcome change.

  5. This looks so pretty, Babs. I'm glad you're not decorating for fall just yet. :) I LOVE fall, but I'm trying not to rush the seasons. Time passes too quickly as it is.

I'm quite partial to monograms, myself, and yours looks cute on your table. I love orchids, but have never tried growing them. We're supposed to get rain here in N.C. today too. :(

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  8. What a beautiful orchid! I like the tray holding everything. I'm seeing things for fall but I want to wait. We've been having cool weather for August, but this coming week it's going back up in temps. I'll keep enjoying the summer for a while longer. Come September we'll see how it goes!

  9. I love your changes! I like the white orchid beside the white marble lamp. That is a beautiful orchid! I'd like to have a white one someday. I have a pink one and it is in my master bathroom at the moment. I'm enjoying the cooler temps we've been having. I'm not decorating for Fall yet either though. After all, it is only August.

  10. Babs, the orchid vignette looks so pretty with the alabaster lamp. We had a nice rain last night, though I was out of town. The garden enjoyed it!
No fall inspiration here. Can't even think about fall when we are still having triple digits. ;-)
    Enjoy the weekend.

I visited one of my favorite local shops on Friday and the owner was putting out the pumpkins, leaves, swags, and squirrels!!! With our cooler temperatures. . .it appears that Autumn is in the Air!!!
