I have to say I've never been a huge fan of candy corn... but I was wandering the Halloween candy aisle at Walmart, and saw this...
Oh, caramel candy corn?
It's probably been around forever, but I've never noticed it. Mostly, I've just used candy corn as a vase filler for candles. :)
The caramel flavor corn was good, but I thought all that sweetness needed something salty with it, so I added salted peanuts...
... then for a little chewy-ness...raisins.
Yes! Just the right combination of sweet, salty, crunchy, chewy goodness.
I mixed about equal amounts of each, but you can adjust the amounts to your taste.
It was a BIG hit with Hubby!
Uh, excuse me...gotta take pics for the post. :)
Yes it was good!
I hope you make it and enjoy it as much as Hubby and I do.
Happy Fall, y'all!

Thanks for sharing and inspiring!!!
Wishing you a wonderful first week of Autumn, dear friend!!!
Fondly,
Pat
P.S. Our hubby's hands are similar in appearance!!!
Yum! I've never heard of caramel candy corn either. I don't usually eat regular candy corn. I bet that was a good combination with the raisons and nuts. You made it healthier too.
ReplyDeleteI love this fall snack, the only problem is that I won't stop eating it...just too good for ya'!!!
ReplyDeleteYum, Babs! I like it all except raisins. I just cannot do raisins. I hope you are well. Happy Fall.
ReplyDeletelooks good to me. ha!
ReplyDeleteI had several visiting French students at my house a year ago and offered them candy corn...as part of our Halloween culture. They had never tasted our candy corn...and it was an addictive sweet for some of them. ha!
I can't keep it in the house much...because my hand finds it to the candy dish too easily. Sheila
I've never heard of Caramel Candy Corn, either, but it sounds yummy! Your addition of raisins and peanuts sounds like the perfect combo!
ReplyDeleteYum!!! I thought I commented on this but I didn't! Love how it kept disappearing!
