Saturday Shopping

Saturday was so  much fun. Y'all know Kim from Savvy Southern Style . Well, she invited me to go to Scott's Antique Market with her, and I was thrilled, because Kim is so much fun, and I hadn't been to Scott's in a long time.
We had a great day looking and shopping.

One of the things I wanted to look for was vintage books, and Kim knew the booth with the best prices...$5-$12 each.
Here's what I found.

These books were so nice and so reasonably priced, I wish I could have bought a whole library of them.

The other thing I was looking for was tartan.  I really didn't see a lot, and most that we did see was very expensive.

But, when I saw this, I knew I just have to have it...right colors, right size and best of all...right price. $15.

It's a wool tartan lap robe from Air France...

...just the right size for a table topper or for cuddling under, while watching The Travel Channel.

Ok, I'll stop yakking now, and show you some of the neat things we saw, but didn't buy.

Here's Kim, looking for bargains.  We're both big bargain hunters.  :)

This was one of the most interesting things I saw.
The dress is made from brown paper, and she's wearing what looks like, antique leather shoes.  Her choice of accessories is so unusual...a necklace and a riding crop. Of course, what else?
I hope you enjoyed visiting Scott's Antique Market with us.

I'm joining The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sundays.
Marty @ A Stroll Thru Life for Table Top Tuesday.
Kim @ Savvy Southern Style for Wow Us Wednesdays.
Please stop by and see all the great posts at these parties.
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

What fun, Babs! And I love your finds! Both you and Kim found really fabulous deals on those books! I told Kim I mostly wind up drooling over the real French antiques at Scotts and eavesdropping on the French people discussing their prices in French! lol Happy weekend!...hugs...Debbie

Oh I just love everything you bought! Those books are gorgeous and I really love that tartan lap blanket. You know I've seen it used that way before over at The Polo House and it looks great like that. I sure wish I could've gone. My husband was working and I had no one to watch my youngest son. Bummer! Maybe next time.

Nice, rich looking books! Those are so cozy to me. That tartan is so special with the Air France on it. You could at least have bought those green velvet chairs for me!

Your books are fabulous. Great colors. I have one antique mall that is close by and the books are much more expensive. Some are $20 - $30 especially the leather covers. You did great. Such a fun day.

I knew you'd gone shopping at Scott's- I wish the one in Columbus was as nice. Love your leather books- there is such a classy look to them. I am coveting those tree fungus thingees! There's one in my big sycamore and I should have asked the landscape crew to get it down for me. I bet they are expensive- sheesh, to think mine could've been free!LOL

Great finds! Love the tartan plaid! Oh there are two things I don't think I could have left without that would be the two metal things in the pic together. Some type of terrarium and a chick-a-dee feeder of some sort. Love both of them! So fun to shop together.

That sounds like an absolutely perfect day! I would love to get my hands on a few of those vintage books at those great prices. I see that you enjoy traveling so that Air France cover is perfect for you.

I must say that the planter with the antlers (I think that's what they are) would make an awesome conversation piece but I bet it would have cost a fortune!
