Earth Day Tablescape

This has been one of those weeks, and as hard as I tried, I couldn't get my post finished for Kathleen's "Let's Dish" party for Earth Day.
If you're like me and missed it, you can check it out HERE, to see all the great tablescapes.

I don't do a lot of tablescapes, because I don't have a lot of dishes...but...

...when I found these cute paper napkins at Pier 1, they gave me the idea for an Earth Day tablescape; and I wouldn't have to buy more dishes.
I layered the paper napkins on top of the yellow cloth napkins, to give them a little more color and oomph

In keeping with the Earth Day idea, the napkins reminded me of the fruits of the Earth...I know I'm stretching it, but tomatoes and lemons are fruits...peppers and olives...well, I don't know.

The centerpiece is an Italian made bowl with lemons painted on it.
I cut tea olive branches, from the yard, as a substitute for lemon leaves, and added a few faux lemons.

Remember the tomato shaped pasta bowls I found HERE  last year?

When I saw the tomatoes on the napkins, I remembered the pasta bowls and, of course, my Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage plates. What would we all do without our cabbage plates?

Dry pasta and faux olives.Yum!...
...and a bottle of wine to go with the pasta. Remember that old song, Bottle of wine...fruit of the vine...?

But, for dessert, we have real sorbet, garnished with mint, and served in my much used demitasse cups.

It's supposed to be lemon sorbet, to go along with the lemon thing, but the store must have been out, because all I could find was mango...and mangoes are fruits, too, and sooo yummy.
Sorbet is such a nice, light dessert...especially with dry pasta and faux olives. :)

                                                   Bon Appetit!

Hope y'all have a great weekend.

Goddness, it took me so long to finally link up your comment! First, dear Babs, the paper napkins are just so pretty..sometimes I say to myself.. wish there were material napkins as beautiful as some of the paper ones are!! The tomato bowl is great, along with the cabbage salad plate and my fab?..the demitasse cabagge cup and saucer, too adorable. Perfect Earth Day table for this weekend.

Yummy! Crunchy pasta, lol!
This is so cute, I feel healthier just looking at your fruits and veggies! You paired everything beautifully. I do not have cabbage dishes! I keep looking for them because you are so right, they mix in so well! I love the demi cups, perfect!
Now do link this up next week, because this is perfect for Earth Day or any day!
Thanks so much for the shout out too! You are sweet!

What great fun Babs, I love the tomato bowls. You don't need stacks of dishes. Great tablescape design is all about having great imagination and having the abililty to rework the items you already have. I love all the Italianesque articles paired with a lovely green arrangement, you've done a super job. I'll be over for supper.

This is exactly WHY you need to bring us more tablescapes. You are very creative and know how to use what you have in innovative ways. The use of the olive tree branches to sub for lemon leaves is terrific! Keep 'em comin', Babs. It's not how many dishes you have, but what you do with them! Have a great weekend and a Happy Earth Day!

Aren't you clever.
I always feel so worthy when I use and re-use what I already have. I think the new phrase du jour is re-purpose. Well, I've been doing that for most of my life! I'm so trendy! Ha!

Beautiful job Babs, I so love your Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage plates and the yellow plates. I must add those to my list of dishes I want. I have never seen Bordallo until I started blogging and now I only have my yellow lemon Bordallo pitcher. Thanks for sharing and stopping by.

I wouldn't have known the centerpiece wasn't made with real lemons if you hadn't said they were faux! It's beautiful! Wonderful idea and you didn't miss Earth Day at least ;)
