Christmas in the Foyer and Living Room

Believe it or not, I'm almost finished decorating for Christmas. It's about time, considering Christmas is only a few days away.  Take a look...

...the foyer chest with a poinsettia, a little wreath on the lamp, and...

...a Revere bowl with ornaments and fresh greenery...

...a bow and a little greenery on the lower part of the stair railing...

...a faux wreath inside the front door. The "R" monogram is from the old Rich's department store Christmas garland. Those of you from the Atlanta area will remember Rich's.

I don't use a lot of red in the living room, since the wall color is a brick/terracotta color. Mostly, I use gold and white in here for Christmas...

...a little sparkle on the secretary...

...old framed Christmas cards give a winter look...

...of course, another "R" monogram...

...top shelf...two DT sleighs from several years ago, hold little vintage trees...

...the top of the book case serves wine and a little "spirit"...

... a "reindeer" candle holder...

...and stirrup cup.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my foyer and living room.  Gosh, it looks like I need to start wrapping gifts for under the tree. Hope you've finished decorating, and that your gifts are all wrapped, and your cookies are in the oven.
Ho, ho, ho!
Hugs,
Babs

I love your glittered monograms. Yes, I remember Rich's well. That was my favorite department store. I have started wrapping gifts and it's looking full now. Still not done with my shopping though. Will continue it tomorrow and bake on Wednesday. I've got a strict schedule this week! LOL!

Babs,
You've heard it said, "Save the BEST for last"???
You have the BEST foyer I've seen in Blog Land, dear friend!!! What I truly enjoy is the placement of thedecor at the bottom of the railing!!! AMAZING!!!
I adore the white bottle brush trees in your secretary!!! The placement of a green poinsettia brings harmony and tranquility to this area!!! So exquisite!!!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful home, dear friend!!!Certainly worth waiting for!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Good Evening Babs, You have dressed your home beautifully for Christmas.
I love poinsettia plants at Christmas time and your bowl of red and gold ornaments are lovely... it really is "beginning to look a lot like Christmas". Have a lovely evening, Best Wishes Daphne

I LIKE the idea of putting the garland on the lower part of the banister. Much safer! I like that a lot!!! Don't be surprised if you see that as part of my decor next year! I see that you and I share an affinity for lettering! I have either individual letters or monograms in just about every room of the house! Ramon thinks it's because I'm forgetting who he is since he's never here! :-) I love the way you have decked out your secretary! I am completely finished with decorating for this year. In fact, I'm just about ready to take it down now...tired of it all already! :-)

Hi Babs!!!
Your home looks so warm and cozy. A perfect home to decorate for the holidays.

So clever to run the garland on the bottom. Looks great!

Have a wonderful Christmas.
I hope you will take part in the Tartan Parade again this March? I think I need to start planning something to post.... soon!
