Summer's here, and I'm already thinking of ways to make the house feel cooler.
One of the ways I like to do this is with white vases and green plants.
In the entry, I used a sea urchin style vase with green and white Caladium leaves, stems of Abelia and a few sprigs of Loropetalum.
In the living room, I combined three vases on the coffee table, with books and glass paperweights.
I found these at thrift stores at different times...I'm always looking for white vases.
A seashell with faux greenery~
Don't know what to call this shape. It's just a good shape and size to use in lots of places.
Remember my little egret planter that I spray painted in this post? It's holding Hen and chicks from the yard. The Hen and chicks are just visiting, and I'll put them back in the pot outdoors, in a few days...they'll never know they'd been visiting.
Oh, here's an "arrangement" on the bookcase, but no white planter.
I had to cut back the Forsythia, because with all the rain, it had grown wild, and was hanging over onto the drive way.
So, I just filled a green glass bottle with it, and added some extra Caladium leaves. Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you're having a great week. Stay cool!
Hugs.

Those all look excellent! I didn't know you could cut caladium leaves to use like that. They make an excellent accent for an arrangement.
Your home looks like a cool serene retreat with all the lovely white and green~You will stay fresh as a daisy for sure! What a welcoming atmosphere after a hot day,
Jenna
I love green and white caladiums. Great arrangements.
Great Minds Think Alike! I collect white pottery too....and use it every season! Especially Summertime. You have inspired me to get my self to the garden to bring in some green! Lovely things you have my dear!
Looks really cool. Love all the white vases.
All of your plants and containers are fabulous. I love them. I have been on a plant kick all summer. Thanks tons for joining Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
Good Afternoon Babs, Your room looks lovely and yes it does look cool.... white has such a cooling and soothing effect especially when teamed with green plants.
I love your paperweights, they are so pretty, I bet they look stunning when the light catches them.
Have a lovely Day,
Best Wishes
Daphne
All your White vases are gorgeous and you're right, they look great inside against the lovely green plants, plus I love the shapes of the vases too. Dear Babs your room is lovely and yes, it looks cool and fresh. Thank you for your sweet comment. Big hugs,
FABBY
I love adding greens in the summer. that egret planter is my fave, and so are succulents.
Your arrangements look lovely. I do love the green and white. Thank you for joining Home Sweet Home!

I love green and white paired together! Love the little egret planter with a succulent in it.
Babs,
I adore the combination of the three white vases on your coffee table, dear friend!!!
I,too, have a collection of white vintage vases. They make every green plant and flower look amazing fresh!!!
Summer has arrived with our first predicted day of triple digits. . .so, I may be borrowing this 'cool' idea, dear friend!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Stay cool! It's even hot in Minnesota! I love it though, how would we even know it was summer if it didn't get hot a month and a half after the snow melted?
It's been hot here too this week...one day I was outside and ended up a pool of sweat! Love all your white vases. You can NEVER go wrong with those!
Debbie starts looking around the house for more white vases now...
I do think that added a summer feeling. I'm serious about looking around. I might even spray paint a few cheapie clear ones from the florist that I can't seem to throw away.
Babs, green and white is a cool, soothing combo for these hot summer days. I like to plant only white bloomers for my back garden so when I look out I see a garden of white and shades of green. It tricks my mind to think it's actually cool out there. Ha!
Love your selection of white vases. That shell is gorgeous, and you are clever to have painted the egret.
You're so right, Babs. The white and green really do "cool" things off. I love all of the arrangements, but I think my very fave is the first one with the caladiums. I'm just partial to those things - especially in the green/white colorway.
Love your "cool" look Babs. White container are always showy and especially the sea shell and egret. I love to decorate with green and white in the summer.
Of course I love all those white containers. Your vignettes are beautiful, Babs!
Babs, love the fresh look of the white with the green. Great idea to use the Forsythia branches. Perfect look for summer! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
