I've had this wooden box for a long time. This is the after pic.
It's one of those boxes that comes with an assortment of tea bags in it.
As you can see, the box is really dark, and my furniture is dark.
It was barely noticeable, just about anywhere I put it.
So, I decided to paint it.
Being terrible at faux painting techniques, a can of spray paint is my best friend.
I taped stripes on the box, and took it out on the deck.
I tried to spray fast, because it was 80 degrees with 80% humidity, and I wasn't even sure the paint would dry under those conditions.
So, I sprayed a little...took the box indoors, waited for it to dry...took it back out, and sprayed again.
And I'm so happy. The sun is still out!
Hopefully, it will be sunny tomorrow, even though rain is predicted for the next few days...but I'm not complaining. At least we aren't having triple digit temps.
What have y'all been up to this weekend?
Any new projects, or just relaxing?
I'll be by to visit.
Hugs,
Babs

Babs, the box looks great with stripes of gold. I say rain rain go away. Enough already!
You did a wonderful job!
I love the stripes and what a pretty vignette you created.
Enjoyed visiting,

What a wonderful transformation! Your box looks great Babs with those gold stripes!
We saw the sunshine for the first time in two weeks yesterday but still got a heavy evening shower. We're about to float away with all the rain!
I have never thought of striping on stained wood with gold paint. It really turned out great.
I love it! It looks so chic now. I liked it before too but now it stands out better against your table. That was such a good idea. I'm sick of the rain too. We have outdoor projects that need to be done, but can't do them until the ground dries out. Also, I'm getting cabin fever! Went for a walk yesterday and it was so enjoyable. I have to get out between the rain storms.
Babs,
The striping on your tea box gives it a classic appeal!!! Great job, despite the weather conditions!!!
We are gearing up for decorating Wedding Reception tables here...more with photos after the July Wedding!!!
Have a wonderful week ahead, dear friend!!!
Fondly,
Pat
The gold stripes in that lovely box would look great on top of my new acquired gold runner, lol.. Thank you Babs for your visit and I'm so happy you liked the shawl as a runner too! Have a great week sweet lady.
