Let's Do Lunch

Some of my favorite places to have lunch are soup and sandwich
shops.

I've been hearing about this one for a week or two, so Hubbs and I decided to check it out today...plus it has a bakery

Hubbs had Loaded Baked Potato Soup with home made croutons.  I had to taste it. YUM!  :)

I had a Reuben, on sourdough, and a Snickerdoodle cookie. Both were the Thursday lunch specials, and both were delicious.

I asked if I could take pics for my blog, and the manager was really nice. Here are a few quick pics. We got there just before the lunch crowd arrived.
Didn't want to disturb anyone by taking pics around them.

In addition to tables with fresh flowers, there's a cozy seating area with leather sofas...

...and a roaring fire.

Welcome sign above the seating area, and...

...here's a table and vignette near where we sat.

Now, to the bakery yummies. There were so many delicious things, sorry I couldn't get pics of everything.

How about some cute frosted graham crackers...

... fun marshmallow pops...

...or a loaf of freshly baked bread?

They also specialize in wedding cakes. This one might be a groom's cake, but I thought it would also be fun for Valentine's Day.
It really looked like a tree stump. Cute!

I couldn't leave without getting a loaf of rosemary olive bread to take home.
Hubbs kept looking at it when we got home, so I cut some to try...I'll definitely get that again...or, maybe the jalapeno cheddar bread. Hmmm.

So, if you're looking for a great place for lunch, something for your sweet tooth, or a wedding cake...check out The Baking Grounds in Buford, GA.
I'll meet you there...oh, and they have an espresso and coffee bar, too.

Have not heard of this place. Thanks for sharing. Not sure I can go in there with all those temptations that I am not eating.

Looks like a fun place for lunch. I always like a restaurant with a fire place in use. The tray table vignette is darling and those goodies are very tempting.

You're making my mouth water! We love a restaurant that serves really good bread and when you can buy a loaf, that makes it even better. I love a Reuben sandwich, too. You want to half that one with me? lol Hugs!

This type of cafe is right up my alley, Babs. I love a soup and sandwich for lunch; your sandwich and your hubby's soup look wonderful!! This cafe has lots of charm -- love the big fireplace and the bakery. Rosemary focaccia dipped in olive oil is a big favorite at our house.

Thanks for sharing this cute restaurant/bakery with us Babs; it looks like you had a fun lunch! :)

Hugs,

This looks like a terrific place, Babs. Very cozy and the food looks delicious. I love a fireplace in a restaurant.

The desserts are so creative and I know I'd want a loaf of that bread. I've learned to buy my bakery before lunch rather than after. I think you follow your instincts better that way!

XO,
Jane

What a great place! I love sandwich shops combined with a bake shop. Your meal looks delish, and all those wonderful baked goods, yum! Hubby and I found a fun place we like, called Yoders. We enjoy it everytime we go there and always bring something along home.

Enjoy your day!

Everything looks so delicious there, and I love the decor. It certainly has been fireplace weather lately.

And now I need to google that to see where it is. I figure it has to be in your basic area, and I visit that basic area periodically. It's exactly the type of place we like to go.

I loved that tree stump cake. So cute!!

This reminds me of St Louis Bread Company, also known as Panera. Panera is based in St Louis. It is one of our favorite places for lunch in all seasons. We affectionately call it breadco.

We stopped for iced tea yesterday on our little drive. They have the best iced tea. Bought a loaf of honey wheat bread, too. Wonderful place for lunch or a light supper. Good food, cozy surroundings, and good music, too.

Darling Babs, I was thrilled to have you visit today. Trust you to turn up when there some singin' & dancin' going on:)
Well you and hubs are very lucky I wasn't with you at the bakery because you would have had to share out that sandwich and soup with me too:)

I love good sandwiches and soup. Bakeries are a serious weakness for me. That food all look delicious! I don't blame you for getting that loaf of bread - I would have too.

Thank you for your sweet comment about my zinnias. I am planning to save the seeds this year. :)
