So, instead of the traditional red and pink Valentine's Day tablescape, I decided to do a tablescape for him, using...you guessed it...camo and a duck.
Here's the old duck we've had around the house for...evah...
...and the camo...camo bandanas from Walmart...where else?
My neighbor was sorting through her storage, and offered me some decorating goodies. The woodsy garland, around the basket, was just one of the things she gave me.
The canning jar candle holders are from Kirkland's.
Hubby thought the tablescape needed just a tiny bit more camo, so he hung his hat on the chair. :)
For just a little bit of "sweetness", faux chocolate candles from Dollar Tree nestle in a bed of moss.
(Woodland safety prevents me from lighting them while they're on the moss, though.)
A few pine cones...
...and an old turtle shell are always good for a woodland tablescape...
...and a big old vase of grasses and sticks.
Guess I'd better start looking through Miss Kay's cookbook that I got for Christmas. It has a lot of really good looking recipes in it.
Now, guess I'd better get busy looking for a yummy recipe to bake for my Valentine.
I'm sitting here watching The Weather Channel and all the snow that's falling in my yard.
Hope y'all are ok. Stay safe and warm.

Thank you for joining in Happy Tuesday. :-)
I love what you've done here, catering to your hubby's likes and making a table just for him. Now THAT's love!!!! :-)
I love your nature inspired centerpiece.. It looks wonderful!
Blessings,
Cindy
Well, I think your Valentine table makes me Happy Happy Happy! I love that turtle shell the best of all. That was kind of fascinating to me. I have never seen one off a turtle before.
I hope you are OK in this weather! We are watching and waiting and hoping that they are the weather channel that cried wolf as far as this area is concerned. Ice isn't easy on a piney stick forest, and that's what our house sits under.
Yikes!
Love your woodsy centerpiece! I love ducks too and Duck Dynasty. Great idea.
My hubby would love this table scape. He always wears camo. You gave me wonderful inspiration ~
Your table for your hubby is so fantastic…I am sure he loved it…so creative Babs..just love it! Miss Kay would love it too!!!
What a beautiful table with unique things that work well for winter. I love lots of candles and the duck. The turtle shell is neat too! Stay warm my friend! We're supposed to get a cold rain tomorrow so I'm staying in, too! Hugs!
Love, love, love it! So cute!

I love the woodland centerpiece and I'm sure your husband loves it too.
This is a very fun and creative tablerscape. I'm sure your husband appreciated it,Babs!
I know your husband is loving this! Such a sweet idea!!
How fun Babs! You found a very creative way to incorporate the world of woodsy/camo with the sentiment of Valentine's Day! (Dan decided to drop his coffee cup into my tablescape the other day as a ha ha)
I haven't worked on a Valentine's table yet...need to get the brain on that one!
This is absolutely the cutest idea ever! Now, that is thinking outside the box and doing something truly special for your hubs!! We get a big kick out of duck dynasty too, and your table is fabulous, love the cookbook! Too much fun!
Jenna
I love your "Ducky" table setting! What a neat idea and different.
This is so very cute!!! And I know you had fun with this one!!!
Lovely duck center piece and especially like that ceramic vase!!
Hope you are staying in where it's safe and warm!!All I can say about what is happening in Atlanta is - CRAZY, CRAZY, CRAZY!!
I just love your Duck Dynasty table setting! So creative and nice. I love all the things you found to fit the theme, including the cookbook. Now, for the menu, I might stay away from the squirrel stew! LOL.
This is a really, really cute idea to make your hubby something so special! Valentine's Day and tablescapes always seem to be geared more toward women, so this is a wonderful way to show your man how much you love him!
I'll bet Miss Kay can really get down in the kitchen. I'm not from the South, but I learned how to make a lot of Southern foods early in life. I've had to tweak them to fit more into our dietary parameters (smoked turkey tails instead of ham hocks, canola or olive oil instead of lard, etc.), but it's always good and nice to indulge every once in awhile. In fact, I'm frying up "a mess o' catfish" tonight for dinner. I've got it soaking in buttermilk and spices right now down in the fridge. Mm, mm, mm...can't wait!
Have fun cooking with your new cookbook!
I love it Bab's and I'm sure the hubby did too!!
I like your table but most of all I like your sentiment to try to please him. I am working on a special dinner for Valentine's too, but I am afraid it is more my taste than his.
I must check out Duck Dynasty. I am probably the last person not to have seen it.
I'm really liking those cute yellow leaf bowls. They look a lot like hearts.
hugs, Lynnie
Oh I love your vignette, it is wonderful, and I love the duck in the mix too. How fun and so pretty. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
Babs,
Although I am the hopeless romantic and love all the roses and lace, gotta' give you a Gold Star, dear friend, for an inspiring Tablescape with "Him In Mind"!!!
I love that you did this just for your swet husband...and I'm sure he does, too!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!!!
Fondly,
Pat
What a cute idea, Babs!! I love the turtle shells and the faux chocolate candles! I think it's wonderful that you created this tablescape with your hubby's interests in mind. :) You did a great job with the table.
Have a wonderful day!

Babs, this is really cute! My hubby loves Duck Dynasty too. I watch it with him and guess who got the cookbook for Christmas? I was just thinking the other day that I needed to cook something out of it. Maybe we can compare notes. lol! I love that you thought of your sweetheart! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
I say the way to a man's heart is through Duck Dynasty! Haven't they just gone crazy? So fun and such a fun tribute to hubby. I can't wait to hear how you like Miss Kay's cookbook. What a fun gift. I love collecting cookbooks and reading them like novels!
You have done a fantastic job on this tablescape. It is beautiful and made me laugh out loud. I was thinking Duck Dynasty half way down the post and then I saw the cookbook I laughed out loud. What a lovely present for your husband.
M~
Yours is a clever and cute table. Quite frankly, I like it much better than the usual colors and frills associated with Valentine's. I'm betting the same is true of your hubby.
What a clever and appropriate table setting for your special Valentine. I love your use of items usually found in autumn settings to make up your setting...really unique!
What a great idea for Valentines day. So many of the valentines things are so girlie that the guys dont like them much. I'm sure your husband loves it. we are big fans of Duck Dynasty here too.
Now, that is true love! Using the camouflage bandannas for napkins was a great idea, and the table really carries out the theme beautifully!
Mr. Sweetladyelaine decorated his office with Duck Dynasty stuff! I think you did a great job! I too thought of doing a duck tablescape for Mr. Sweetladyelaine. The camouflage bandannas are a cute idea and I love the woodsy centerpiece! Have a happy Valentine's Day!
Blessings My Friend,
Wonderful table...love your outdoorsy theme.
