My husband had given me a gift certificate for a spa treatment at a very upscale spa.
Now, I'm a small-town Southern gal, and I have to say I was a little nervous thinking I was going to have to go "au naturel"...but, it wasn't that kind of spa...thank goodness!
After the spa treatment, I was offered a glass of cucumber water.
I thought it was sooo chic. :) And, it was really refreshing, too.
I haven't made it for a while, but lately, I've been drinking lots of sweet tea and diet soda, so I decided I'd make a pitcher of cucumber water, to get me away from all that sugar and artificial stuff.
The recipe is really easy...
Put several slices of cucumber in a pitcher of cold water. I always use English cucumbers. They're prettier, and don't have wax on the skins.
Pop the pitcher in the fridge for a few minutes. Add ice, if you like, and serve. If you like a stronger flavor, just leave it in the fridge longer.
Sometimes I add a sprig of parsley or a few lemon slices...whatever I'm in the mood for, or have in the fridge.
Summer is here, and it's hot outside, but I'm cool as a cucumber with my glass of cucumber water.
Now, if only I were at the beach. Did you notice I took the pics with my beach towel as the background? :)
Stay cool,
xo Babs

I just bought a cucumber so I may try to make this! Sounds so light and refreshing. And it's HOT down here already! Enjoy your week my friend! Hugs, Diane
That looks delish. I'm going to make some tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder. Deb
The first time I had cucumber water was at a spa too...it is so refreshing!...Beautiful pictures Babs!
I would never have thought of cucumber water but it sounds, and looks, very refreshing. I will have to try it. Thanks for sharing!
Babs, I've never had cucumber water, but I'll try it. I find cucumbers refreshing. I keep cucumber sticks in the fridge to munch on.
I recently read an article about how valuable the cucumber is health wise. I bet that tastes really good. I shall have to try it!
That looks like a wonderful Decoration! Hope you have a wonderful long weekend too,

That looks so refreshing! And healthy!
I want to make some! I have never been to a spa because I'm so stinking cheap. I would love to do it, though. I guess I'll have to be content with homemade spa water and pretend.
Babs,
Thanks for this "cool" as a cucumber drink suggestion. Like you, I try to stay away form artificial sweeteners.
Adorable beach towel backdrop for your photos!!! Clever idea!
Fondly,
Pat
I bought one of those infusion pitchers last year, that has a tube down the middle to put in fruits or cukes, whatever you want to infuse your water with. Works great and the cucumber water is my favorite!
I love cucumber water! Thanks for reminding me. It's so pretty too.
Hi Babs, I love cucumber water! I think it's as pretty as it is refreshing. Thanks for sharing it with SYC.
hugs,
