Random Things Monday 10/13/14

Last week was really busy and a lot of fun.
We celebrated out 46th anniversary, took a day trip on Friday, spent Saturday at home watching football games, then attended an annual family gathering on Sunday.
I'm still "running in high gear", so here are a few random things from last week.

I got two of these big, pottery jack-o-lanterns at Home Depot.
Right now, one is on the deck and the other by the front walk. They don't come with the plant or the cat, but do come in two different sizes.
This is the big one, and hea-vy! No worrying about the wind blowing it away.
I'm trying to decide how to light them for Halloween. Maybe with a string of orange lights inside?

In the family room, I added a wool Air France airline blanket, as a topper, on a side table.

Cast iron pine cone candle holders with flameless tea lights.
It's starting to feel more like Fall now and I'm ready for cozy.

The family room is pretty neutral, color wise...

 ...except for my snack tray.

Mmmm, ginger lemon creme cookies and herbal tea. I'm set for a while.

Friday, we took a day trip to the North Georgia mountains. We had a yummy lunch and visited the Folk Pottery Museum. I'll share a few more pics later.

Bye for now. :)

I adore the halloween planter and the black cat! Maybe a faux tealite or two inside -- they put off quite a bit of light. I really like the plaid blanket across the table -- plaids are so popular this year.

I love your new Halloween pottery from Home Depot! I do think string lights would work great. The airline blanket makes such a nice table cover too. We haven't traveled to the mountains yet this Fall, but hope to do so before all the leaves disappear. Your picture is beautiful!
