Spring Tablescape

Have you ever been out shopping, looking for that perfect thing, and saw something that just "spoke" to you?

Well, the other day I was in my favorite flea-tique and I thought I heard someone call my name....

                          "Baaa--bs,  Baaa--bs".

To my surprise it was a big, white sheep.
(OK, you can stop groaning now.)

What could I do? She "spoke" to me; so I took her home to use in my Spring tablescape.

I thought, since she was rather plain, bless her heart, that I'd try to gussy her up a bit.

I put a little ribbon around her neck. Well, she would have none of that...she subscribes to the "less is more" philosophy.

Sheep really has an attitude. lol
So, you'll see her without the bow in the tablescape.

These are the Adams, English Countryside dishes I got the other day for an early birthday present. Yay!
See the sheep on the salad plate? Maybe they're her English ancestors.

The dinner plate has a fishing scene in front of a charming mill house.

I found these darling yellow violas at the garden center and popped them into this little wooden crate from GW.

Here's Sheep peeking around the violas.

She didn't know I had caught her sniffing the flowers.
Naughty girl.

I filled the demitasse cups with Easter grass and Jordan almonds.

Can you see the fleur de lis on the glass?

Look at the pretty detail on the cup handle.

Thank y'all for stopping by. I always enjoy your visits.

P.S. Sorry I'm so silly today. It's my birthday and I'm happy.  Thanks for not groaning too much.

Happy belated birthday, Miss Babs! I am just getting around to seeing the beautiful blog posts from this week's Tabelescape Thursday. I've been in Savannah with my husband the last couple of days with NO access to a computer. I was going bonkers!!! I love the pretty colors on the table, and I am very much in love with the dishes!!! Those demitasse cups & saucer sets are just TOO cute for words! I have the salad plates that match them. They're so, so cute!!! And as for your new little friend, I don't know that I believe your story about him calling out your name. He looks too "sheepish" for that to me! :-) Beautifully done table! Have a wonderful weekend! Oh...and thank you so much for stopping by my blog EARLY this morning and leaving such a sweet comment. That's nice to come home to!

Babs, Your new lamb would have bee calling to me, as well. Loud and clear, in fact! Love the red transferware you received as a B-day gift. I'm a sucker for any color, but I would love to have some red...
I've tossed your name into the hat for Paula's book. Good luck to you and thanks for being a follower. :-)

Flea-tique made me laugh!
I love your table. I would love some of those dishes around here because I just love red. Of course, besides the little sheep, my favorite part was definitely the little cabbage looking cups.

And I hope you had a terrific birthday.
