Work and Play

Hi, everyone.
Hope you had a great weekend. I know we did, even though we did more work around the house than playing.

Speaking of playing... here's Hubby's favorite toy.  I don't know why he parked it by the front steps. Guess he was cleaning it after cutting the grass. But it reminded me that I needed to paint the railing.

Here he is in the back yard. He keeps trying to get me to ride the lawn mower, but I'm having none of that. Don't want to keep him from having all that fun. :)

Here's my project...scrubbing and painting the baker's rack...

...and the railing on the front steps. Oh, the deck furniture needed paint, too. I did that this morning.

I managed to do a little playing today, and popped a few things on the baker's rack.

It had been bare all winter, so I brought out a few things from the kitchen to decorate it a bit.

I recently picked up these heavy green glasses at the thrift store for 99 cents. They'll work great for votive holders.

On the middle shelf, I put my angel vine and a green footed bowl, to hold lemons...and a fun fish dish that I got the same time as the green glasses.

A few other necessities are on the bottom shelf.
Whew! After all that work, maybe I'll have a glass of what ever that is in the basket. Will you join me?
Have a great week! I still have lot of little projects to do, and then I'll play some more.
Hugs,
Babs

Every man needs a good mower and yours has his now! Your backyard is really beautiful! It's so lush and green and private. Sounds like you've been busy getting a lot of projects done outside. That's a good feeling.

Babs, your lawn looks so pretty and expansive. Good thing you have a riding lawn mower. '-) Our front railing needs painting too. I should take a cue from you and get onto that project. Seeing your pretty angel vine, reminds me that I need to look for a new one. Once again, the one I had didn't make it. ;-(

We have one of those but it's at our home in Maine. My husband loves his too. Here we have a rather small yard compared..so he pushes his little red one around and seems ok, but talks about the big one a lot! :)
Your yard is gorgeous!!
Oh..and I think you are smart not to climb on for a ride! :)

Thank you for your blog post. I have already been saving for our new book on this subject and your short article has made us all to save money. Your thoughts really responded all our issues. In fact, in excess of what we had known before we stumbled on your excellent blog. My spouse and i no longer have doubts as well as a troubled mind because you clearly attended to the needs in this article. Thanks

Good Evening Babs, Well, if I could buy a lawn mower which you ride for my husband, he would be in heaven! Not that we need one of course, because our garden is much smaller, but as I've dreamed of a bigger garden, George has dreamed of owning a mower like your husband's.
Babs, your garden is so beautiful.
I love Baker's Racks and yours looks so pretty. Do you keep it on your porch for the Summer time.
Lovely to catch up with you.
Best Wishes
Daphne

I love the looks of your back yard. Hubby's little Toro looks like a nice lawn mower! I like those new glasses you used as a votive- very good idea! The whole display is pretty neat! Fun stuff! The railing looks great. Sometimes it's tedious but worth it in the end!

I'm mad at you! You have reminded me that I have to work on our baker's rack on the deck!!! I didn't want to do that work!!!! :-) I'm sure I'll be happy after it's all said and done, though. Thank you for putting that thought back in my head.(begrudgingly said!) Yours looks great! I can't leave a bunch of stuff our on ours. The weather here is so weird.

Your hubby's lawn tractor sure is lookin' clean! Tell him he looks like Forrest Gump out there on it! That always gives 'em a chuckle! :-)

I've had a full day of working here in our condo so I'll join you for a glass of wine. I don't think I dusted much when we left it last year and I'm Spring cleaning! lol Enjoy your afternoon! It's 5 O'Clock somewhere...heehee!

Good Lord, Babs! I am exhausted just listening to you. Your yard is gorgeous. We just sold our riding mower this year, unfortunately Bob can not longer use it.
The baker's rack and the vignette looks great.
You have made me so tired, I think I will join you for some of whatever is in those bottles. Cheers!
