I started with the urns by the front door.
The violas, creeping jenny and little blue flowers, looked bedraggled, so, I pulled all that out, and dropped in smaller pots of yellow pansies and dusty miller...which I bought at the same time.
They were still looking pretty, and I wanted to have some color for Thanksgiving. I grabbed two faux wreaths to cover the edge of the urn and black pots, and stuck in some large pinecones.
I'll change the pansies out after Thanksgiving, but probably leave the wreaths and fill in with something. Haven't figured out what I want to do yet.
~Don't look...I need to scrub the bricks on the stoop, too.
One of the nandina bushes by the french doors is loaded with red berries. I love using them in arrangements.
I thought I'd show you this fun flashing lights necklace I found at Home Depot, while Hubby was looking for an extension cord.
I think this is so cute, and only three dollars. And, it comes with an extra set of batteries, too!
My inner child couldn't pass it up.
Of course, I won't wear it until after Thanksgiving.

Babs, great idea to add the wreath. I'm going to remember that. The planter looks great!
Beautiful.
Wonderful decorations in the planter. I guess I need to do similar; not sure.

How gorgeous!

The wreath on the flower pot was a brilliant idea! All mine are put away for the winter but this inspires me with an idea!
Great ideas, Babs!
Wow! that Nandina bush is beautiful. We don't have them here in New England that I know of. I like the pansies in with the greens and pinecones. Nice pop of color
Great idea! Your front porch looks perfect for Thanksgiving!!
beautiful ideas! love those bright berries!
How beautiful! You have a lovely home.
I love the idea of using a wreath on top of your urn for Christmas greenery! I can't believe I never thought of that. Hasn't the weather been pretty this week? It won't be long now before I start asking my husband to bring up the Christmas tree from the basement. I'm getting excited about decorating too. But, I prefer to wait until after Thanksgiving. We may leave our tree up for my son to see after he comes back from boot camp in January. So.....I really don't want to get it too early! LOL!
I have been having that urge to decorate for Christmas too, but I am going to wait until after Thanksgiving!
Wow, those berries are just stunning! It's always good to let the 'inner child' out once in a while!
It's lovely to still be out in the yard this time of year. Enjoyed your photos very much!
Gorgeous planter and the Nandina is spectacular…my nandina do not look anything like yours…Yes, I can imagine you using those wonderful berries in an arrangement...
I have never heard of that bush, but oh how I would love having those berries to decorate with! Your planter turned out lovely and you will look dashing when you're flashing! lol! Thanks for sharing with SYC and for putting our Christmas party button on your post!
hugs,
Jann
Hi Babs,
