This is Touran,White Saxifraga. I saw it at the garden center, and thought it would look good in the new, sunny garden bed I was making.
Well...maybe not. After checking it out online, I think, in our zone, it's going to require more shade than sun. So, it's going in a big pot in the pine island...I think.
Right now, it's visiting on the kitchen hutch.
I also bought Dianthus, or as my grandmother used to call them, "Pinks". I know their requirements, so no surprise there...
...and, Dusty Miller, which is one of my favorites, because it plays well with lots of plants.
Here's one of the garden beds that we started. We transplanted some sedum from a spot that had gotten too shady, and filled in with some of the Dianthus. I guess I'll have to cover them up Tues. night, since temps in the low 30s are predicted.
The saxifrage will just have to visit a while longer on the hutch, because it looks really tender. If y'all have tips on this plant, let me know. It's so pretty, I'd hate to kill it.

I don't know saxifrage but it sure is cute! I love dianthus- so reliable and perky and they smell good too! I need one of those big torches to melt the snow so I might see spring sometime in April! Enjoy your lovely weather :-)

Oh I'm jealous that you got the chance to plant flowers this weekend! It was so pretty. Love your new flowers. The new one that you're unsure about is new to me also. I would google it to get more info. It's very pretty!

Your flowers are beautiful, Babs. I love seeing plants that are not native to me, it's a whole different world out there!! I don't do well with flowering indoor plants so I stopped getting them years ago. I have such a tiny home, I really don't have room for plants, large or small although I love how they freshen up a room.
Your garden is looking pretty! Last week we had warm weather and I even pulled out the sprinkler to get some areas that don't get rain or snow. Oh, that was fun. Now we are back down to the 20's and it's going to be cold all week. That's the Midwest for ya! Never ever move here! ;-)

I have the "play in the dirt" bug as well!! May have to throw plastic over the seedlings tonight and and tomorrow. Suppose to freeze - but loving the afternoon sun!!

You and I are rowing the same boat with the same broken paddle...I buy plants without checking first to make sure I can handle them! If they're pretty, I just WANT them!!! I bought some gorgeous topiaries a few years ago that promptly died because I had nowhere in the house to put them that would receive adequate light. Living in the Midwest, of course, many plants have to be brought in and "over-wintered" if you want to have them for the next year. I'm SO not willing to dig up anything and have nowhere to put it if I did, so I need to be careful about buying those kinds of plants. It's just a waste of money!
I hope the nice Spring weather comes to stay in your neck of the woods! You need to scratch that gardening itch!!!

If it isn't hardy sun and drought resistant. . .it won't survive here on the Prairie!!!
I L O V E Dusty Miller. . .and it does well here in our heat! We've managed to keep it going along the border line of the Herb Garden. Last year I purchased a "new" variety that has smaller, rounder ears. Similar to Lambs Ears...it is so sweet!!!
I'll be watching to see "How your Garden grows", dear friend!!!
