Fall Seashell Vignette

I'm slowly moving into Fall. Our house doesn't have any pumpkins, or vignettes with Fall leaves, yet...but it will. :)

Yesterday, I was packing away some of the seashells we found at the beach, and others that were around the house.
And, I decided to make one last seashell vignette, on the living room bookcase.

I have lots of shells and couldn't use them all. So, I picked the ones I like best...

...arranged some similar shells in rows...

...and others in small silver bowls.

A magnifying glass is handy for looking at...

...the details of these little fossil shells, a little piece of coral, and...

...fossilized shark's teeth that we found on the beach.

I chose shells with brown in them, and put some on old leather books, to give the vignette a more Fall-ish look.

They'll probably stay like this for a couple of days...

...then I'll pack most of them away, until next year.

Looking forward to Sept. 23rd, the first day of Fall.
I'm on my way to visit y'all and see what projects you're working on.

Your seashell vignette is so petty, Babs! Hard to believe that Summer is almost over. Hope you're enjoying these last couple of weeks!

Beautiful shell vignette. I really think they are such a pretty element of seasonless decor.
I even find shells very chick!
Hugs,

Babs, your vignettes are gorgeous and make a statement for any season. Nothing like the beautify of natural, organic items. I'm in awe of the fossilized shark teeth you have found. They are beautiful! A+ on this!

Babs, this is the perfect end-of-summer vignette element! What better way to say goodbye to a season than to reminisce about a great vacation! Lovely!!

Babs, I just packed up my shells and turquoise glass. Now I'm displaying my cat collection for a few weeks since it's someone's birthday coming up. Then I bring out the fall stuff...hoping the temps will have dropped also!
hugs,
Linda

All those neat shells AND fossilized shark's teeth - possibly been to Cumberland Island or Edisto Island. I LOVE them both and always find some neat shark's teeth!! Especially after a rain!!
I can't wait for fall!!! Enough is enough!! Heat - get out of here!!! Please???

This is really lovely to me. The colors of a seashell are just naturally the soft hues of fall. They work perfectly, especially for this transition time.

I'm waiting to put out my pumpkins, too. (Well, all but one that I made out of an old book. I went ahead and put that out. )

You have a nice collection of shells. I never set mine out this year. I guess I forgot about them.

Collections always are an interesting decor feature, and your vignette or pretty shells keeps summer around for a little longer!
Lovely!

Happy Sunday!

Love your seashell vignette, Babs! I had never used shells in my decor until this summer. It never seemed appropriate since we live in the desert, but we had a beachy vacation and thought why not bring some of those fun memories into a few vignettes -- even in the desert. You have a very lovely collection, and I'm sure you will look forward to bringing them back out next year!
