New Look for the Old Secretary.

A couple of weeks ago, Donna@ Designs on 47th Street, shared photos of her beautiful new secretary.

When I posted My Entry for Spring, she asked about my secretary that she'd seen in this photo.

I was embarassed to show it to anyone because it was a catch all of little, unrelated "treasures".

Well, then I had to do something. I couldn't show it the way it was, so I started shopping the house for anything that would work.
I found my box of sea shells and started playing.

I wrapped the dark, little books in white paper and tied them with twine.

An old piece of coral went on a round stand.

I filled a flower pot with several large shells.

Recognize the woven glass holders? I added those for texture and inserted a silver julep cup for a tiny bit of sparkle.

Two small transferware plates, a bird figure, starfish, sea biscuits, sand dollars and a lidded dish, and it was finished.
All were things I had, so the new look was "free".

                                                               Ta Da!

My favorite little Staffordshire dog and Waterford clock are always on the desk.

I added a mother of pearl frame and a lamp for reading.
Hope you like the new look. Thanks for stopping by.

I'll be joining Marty@AStrollThruLife for Tabletop Tuesday
and Kim@SavvySouthernStyle for Wow Us Wednesday.

See y'all there.

It looks great, Babs. The white touches offer a fresh bright contrast to the dark wood of your gorgeous secretary. I've always wanted a secretary for our home, but have never found one to fit a space.
Still looking. LOL Enjoy your week!

Babs,
WoW! Amazing how the white accessories are accented by the warm hue of the wood tone in your secretary! I adore the white theme combined with the brown transfer ware. Shopping all from home...I'd say you're one thrifty lady! Thank you for sharing your grand secretary with us!
Fondly,
Pat
