The Frame and Rain

Hi, and Happy Friday!
Thank all of you for your suggestions for  the frame of my egret picture. I got lots of "votes" for antique gold, and since I'm a traditional kinda gal, that's my favorite color, too.
Here's how it looks now...

I know it looks like I just spray painted it...well, I did! But, I also used a couple of shades of gilders paste to hopefully, give it a little depth and shading.
I promise, it looks better "in person" than in the photos.

Here you can see the shading a little better. I used antique gold and German silver.
Gilders paste is a new product to me...I'm not very crafty...but it was easy to use. The ladies at the shop where I bought it, were really helpful, and explained how to use it.

Right now, its in the guest bedroom. I may do a little more shading on it, and find something to put on either side...maybe plates or sconces?  It seems a little small up there all by itself. :)

I mentioned it's been raining today, and things are really greening and blooming.
Here are some pics I snapped from my front door...

I'm such a Redneck. :) I was standing with the front door open taking pics.

Here's our walkway with dogwood, white azalea and Indian Hawthorne in bloom.

Looking to the left...

...and across the street at my neighbor's house.
Of course, I called to ask her if she minded my taking a photo. She was thrilled that I thought it looked so pretty. She works a lot in her yard and there's always something in bloom.

We put the veggie plants put in the garden yesterday, and I strained my back...it's heck getting old. :)
It's a little better this afternoon, and I'm ready for the weekend. Hope y'all have a good one.
Hugs,
Babs

Babs, the frame looks great! And that garden is gorgeous. Dogwoods, azaleas.......my heart is smiling. Your pots filled with the happy yellow and purple flowers is the perfect welcome at your front steps.

Babs, you really transformed that frame...it looks beautiful! And your walkway! I bet a lot of people walk by and smile!

We've had tons of rain (and flooding everywhere, but I have noticed my daffs and tulips loved it and are ready to open (finally)!

Hope your back improves with every day. If it makes you feel better, I get aches and pains just carrying a laundry basket upstairs!

XO,
Jane

Hooray for your newly rejuvenated frame!!!!!! If we get to cast a vote for either plates or sconces, I vote plates. I don't know why exactly, but that's my vote! I guess maybe because I'm looking at the decor on the bedside table, and it seems like plates would be a natural extension.

I'm so glad things are in blooming and greening up there! We had a hard freeze last night that took out anything left standing from the freeze a couple of nights prior. Lots of people had sheets down to protect their plantings. I haven't been able to get out there and put anything in the ground or in a pot with these shoulders, so I was safe.

Please tell your neighbor we want to tar & feather her, and run her out of town on a rail for having such a beautiful yard! :-)

Good Morning Babs, The frame looks fabulous and it really enhances the picture.
Your garden looks beautiful, so fresh and green with such lovely colour. Your neighbours azalea is such a stunning colour. This is such a treat for me to see so much colour at this time of year.
Have a lovely Sunday.

I like how your frame turned out. I think it stands out nicely against the white wall. Your yard is looking good! Everything has really exploded with color this week hasn't it? I'm not fond of this cold weather we're suddenly having though. It looks like it should be warm outside with all the sunshine and green grass. Then I open the door and get hit by cold air. Yuck!
