This morning, I headed out in the back yard to look for some twigs or small branches, and I noticed the Lullaby Baby daylilies had stopped blooming, and their stalks looked really interesting.

This morning, the temperature was in the 60s...it seemed like Fall. But now it's 91, so I guess not.
We're hoping to have a yard sale Friday. This is the first Friday in a long time, that rain hasn't been predicted. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, because we really need to have a good clearing out.

I'm such a fan of stuff like that. There is just something more beautiful to me when things are real and organic than if they are silk. I love how you did the sand in the bottom. I really want to copycat that. So simple and pretty!
What a great idea and these stalks will go straight into fall. Our temps have been crazy too but I have to admit I have been enjoying the cool down! Hope all is well...Ann

We, too, have been experiencing lovely weather here on the Prairie!!!Even our lawn is still lush and green. . .very unusual for this time of year. . .but I'm loving every green blade of grass, flowering plant, bush and leaves on the trees after two long years of drought!!!
I agree, these would have made a striking design element on your costal tablescape, but I adore them in their current location!!!

Those look great! I love the mix of the sticks, sand and shells in glass. It has a wonderful summer look to it. I never thought of using the stalks from flowers like that. Great idea!
Now, why oh why, didn't I think of that. The rest of use are pulling those stalk and discarding them. You are a clever lady.
